That's the same one I bought this summer. It had great reviews online so I went with it. Used it twice and she kicked butt both times.

I almost bought a 455 Rancher last September, good saw. Howerver I opted for the Echo Timberwolf CS 590. My last saw was a Shindawa 488, lasted 17 years and still use it for stumps etc. Shindawa was bought out by Echo and at a sale price of $399, $200 off, I am giving the Timberwolf a chance. Time will tell if I made a good choice.

I bought a Husqvarna Rancher 50 thirty years ago. Still kicks ass. :woot:
That saw has cut an ass load of wood over the years.

I prefer Stihl, 44 or 46, but I've used several huskies and the 372 or 376 were decent but I couldn't be swayed from my 44. The 455 rancher is a decent homeowner saw, shoot, we even had a few at the tree company I used to work for but evenetually went to all Stihl.

my personal favorites are the stihl 390 or the 460... 390 in 20 inch and 460 in 24 inch... I have used the husky 455 but it would not be my first choice for frequent use. the 455 is much harder starting saw even new and is somewhat less powerful in larger cuts say 12 plus inches than the comparably spec-ed stihl 290 (farm boss) even.
it is alot lighter and handles better than the 460 that I currently use for everything and which was given to me not running and free. so that may have me biased

Not a bad choice for a larger home owner saw... I would consider the farm boss though. And also if you plan on keeping it for a long time consider spending a little more and picking up a professional grade saw like A stihl 362 or a husky 357xp. Here's a pic of a couple of my sawsIMG_0282.jpg

Used a Husky 372 as a hotshot with the Forest Service. Heavy use in extreme conditions and never ceased to impress.
