It sounds like your blower motor resistor is bad. It is located on the blower where the connector is.

You don't have lower speeds? Like 1 and 2 but you always have high speed?

I think you just get away with taking the glove box out. It's behind that. The bolts (3) should face the floor, but you don't need to remove the motor.

I had a similar problem, where the blower would stop and then all of a sudden start up again. When I went behind the glove box, i found that if I gave the thing that rotates (sorry dont know the name of it) a little push, it would start to revolve. I took an air duster and cleaned it out a little and havent had the problem since. (knock on wood)

I found this a few weeks a go when I had the same problem with 2006 D-Cab Tacoma...the location was on the passenger side under top of carpet, next to the firewall. If you find the blower you will see wire going to the resistor I ordered the part from the local CarQuest Auto Parts store and they had it the next day...cost was $28.00.

I found the info at the site below:

A couple of months ago, I replaced the AC resistor because my AC fan would only run on high. It worked for a while, but is doing the same thing again. It may be the resistor again, but what could be causing it? Resistors should not go bad like that.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks,
    Brooks

In my case, the blower was intermittent at any speed, in other words, when it worked, it worked at all speeds, when it did not work, it did not work at any speed.
After reading this thread and the thread at TOYOTANATION.COM, I was able to fix my problem. First, I checked the ohms reading at the blower resistor using a helpful diagram posted in that thread. The readings were good. Secondly, I inspected the connector, and that is where the problem was. I suggest you go to the TOYOTANATION forum for more information.
