5000k may look a little whiter but 4300k gives you the best overall visibility to the human eye. Never seen bounce on my Hylux.

    None.
Hmmm, it’s been a whil, but I’m sure I read some research on a site that said human vision was optimized for 5000k.

I just drove in the rain at night for the first time since I’ve had these headlights installed and they were terrible. I was seriously considering pulling over to check to see if they were working. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to increase brightness? I have the 4300k round ball bulb and 35w ballast. Should I increase to a higher wattage ballast?

Not sure of your serious. They outperform both halogen and LEDs. Headlights aren’t designed to be a catch all. Try using your fog lights. Inclimate weather varies but had you had a different light in that same situation i guarantee it would have been worse.

That said you can try 55w but not sure if there will be a significant difference.

I could barely see with stock halogens in clear skies.

Yeah I’m serious. Only thing I can think of is they might be aimed incorrectly but I haven’t messed with the aim any so it is still the same factory level. My windshield is also tinted at 55% which I just realized could be a factor. Kind of thinking about trying to find a replacement projector that was designed for hid headlights.

Ya I agree, tint is only exacerbated by limited lighting such as bad weather, shadows and night

EDIT: Also, there's only 3 states that allow full windshield tint but its limited to 70% light. Everyone else is like top 5-6" or AS-1 line..

I would have to disagree. I had 20% tint on my F250 windshield and 35% on my f150 windshield. Unless you have crappy tint, night time driving is hardly effected by the tint. Especially with HIDs.

Laughable. Any and all tint is affected to some degree with night time driving and low light conditions. Period.

Is anybody having the "bulb jiggle/bounce" effect while driving with this HID setup?

Get rid of the tint. Problem solved. I have no issues in the rain at all and it's the rainy season here in WA.
