    well here is the update:

I have been told now that the bulb is not the correct one.....after all the pictures and emails they want me to cut the old bulb and send pictures BEFORE they send me a new bulb...They say it is CnLights policy.....I told them I can’t drive at night without lights and I would send them the bulb after I get replacement......they now want me to cut the wires from the old bulb and send pictures before CnLight will send bubble....My order was not with CNLights but Manufacturing88 who distributes fro CnLights.....so now they are recommending I change everything back to halogen, cut bulb and wait for new bulb.......I am not a happy camper

Oh, just got email.....lets see what they say now

Edit: they will not send new bulb.....want me to cut bulb and send pix but as i told them I can’t drive at night in california with one light.......so they then tell me to change everything back to the halogens,.....

since it was their fault by sending wrong light I have asked for RMA to return entire kit for a refund..They refuse this because it is too far......what a bunch of jerks

That's a policy I'm seeing often now. Cut wires to show no longer functioning and they issue replacement instead of lengthy RMA process. Honestly, not a bad deal. Just put in halogens and hook up oem connectors and leave everything else in place until you get the new bulb.

yea......but still a pain in the ass......they want $20 for new bulb (1) and I have to pay shipping back to them or cut the wire and show pic.....i can get new ones from diode dynamics for $40 for 2 bulbs......Just got email and they said I can send bulb back and they will send new one....will use the diode dynamics and keep the Hylux as spares...

EDIT: the bad bulb works but it is a H16

i have been trying different bulbs.......4300k from diode dynamics and 5000k from diode dynamics......the 4300k do have a touch of yellow and the 5000k a clear white with a blink of blue.....ran both but preferred the 4300k because i got more light.....my issue is that I do not get the nice pattern spread with either...i have a definite oval overall but no bright pattern in the middle......I will post some pictures......i also bought new ballasts from diode dynamics just in case.....

my pattern is not like yours here with ball lights, 4300k......i get the oval pattern but not the bright spot all the way around the pattern....maybe I should change out ballast as well....thoughts?........my set up is like yours with the same grounding points for ballast and relay

Ballasts have no impact on the pattern of the light from the bulb or housing. Did you get h11 instead if h11b, so there is a shadow in the center of the output?

this was the last post pictures...see how bright and wide the pattern is....the new one is small and more detailed with a small square or rectangle on top....the one on the left is pretty good and the one on the right little smaller....

Ordered on the 2nd, and received on the 12th. Not too bad. I'll hopefully install today or tomorrow. This thread is a great resource.

I have already cut the adapters out of the grommets and covered them as others have done.

Last night I was fiddling with getting the relay onto the grounding lug next to the battery, but man that's an awkward fit. I may buy a ground junction box thing since I'll be needing to add other accessories later on.

Took me about 1.5 hours to do the HID lows and LED highs, but it wasn't too bad.

Here's how I routed the ballast harness to the passenger side with zip ties:

Showing my passenger side ballast and the small amount of room in there without removing the washer tank:

The trim next to the battery comes out really easily so I used that to stuff the relay and all the excess wires. I just used double-sided tape to hold the relay. It's in there pretty stiffly already:

    Thanks!

Medium sized hands here, but I used a very small ratchet to fit in there

I didn't want to mess with the fluid hose.

Use dielectric grease in the connections to make it extra water resistant.

I bought Scooby24's kit from his truck. Still impressed about how good the light distribution is without doing a full retro. HID really is the way to go in these trucks.

installed hylux and have had no issues since i raised the lights 1”........thought very strongly about full retro to RX lights as option after the fact, but i am saving up......after the 1” raise. i am very satisfied....no “shake” or “jumping” at all

Which ebay listing is everyone using now? The original listing is showing ended and it seems the new kits come with "YEAKY" bulbs?

What is the overall consensus of the quality of this kit? Is it worth the investment if I want to implement HID's in my Taco? Are there better alternatives that are more cost effective for the luminosity?
