Oh... they can... It is a scalar value in the code. However, they probably will not do it.

Anyone have an install video? Looks like it will be DIY for me. My local fab shop wanted 299 for the part and another 75 for labor.

Icon Stage 1 suspension on all 4 corners. Dirt King Heim UCA. Wheeler's front SuperBump bumpstops. Removed sway bar. Dakar HD leaf pack. Timbren U bolt flip w/ OR bumpstops. Method Race Mesh Wheels with Toyo AT2's 285/70-17. BAMF Rock Sliders. RCI front skid. RCI LCA skids.
Looking to install the Hypertech in my 2017 trd off road. Installed icon stage 1 suspension with their 1.5" aal and dirt king UCAs wrapped in 285/70-17s. The speedo does seem off. Did your MPG gauge and odometer correct itself after using the Hypertech? Currently getting about 15.5-16mpg per tank on the dash. Wondering if i'll gain some after installing the Hypertech since it corrects the speedo.

Is that the only difference between the inline kit vs the kit with the digital screen? Less install time plus being able to read error codes? Thanks for the info. I found the inline kit for about $190 shipped and the one with the digital screen for $230 shipped

Good to know, thank you. I did see the instructions with the inline kit to open the dash ect doesn't seem hard but if I can avoid that, awesome.

    Have a part number?

I only see In-Line Speedometer Calibrator - Part #730123 available for the '16 Tacoma V6.

No clue but I think they're the same part #. I think the only way to tell em apart is if it says in-line or not next to speedometer calibrator. I'm in CA so they won't ship the the non in-line version to me... but I know someone who can haha

As I am in the market for something like this and I don't want to take my dash apart to do a speedometer recalc.....why can't we have the non in-line version shipped to us here in CA? I am curious if you might know the reason?

If you don't have to keep this thing plugged in.. I'm buying it, adjusting my speedo, then selling it on here :)

So why can't you use the plug in version (get it shipped here) in CA? What am I missing?

I have a plug in performance handheld unit for my Cobra...why can't you use this on a Tacoma?

Something about carb or emissions not being CA compliant

Since when is adjusting your speedometer and odometer to work properly (which is the law by the way) adversely effect CARB emissions here in CA? This state sucks.

Lol no clue. This is the response I got from a seller after I purchased it:

"Because of new CARB regulations put in place in CA the Hypertech product you ordered cannot be shipped into CA.

Pulleys, Intakes, Piping, Exhausts and some other vehicle aftermarket products are regulated by the California Air Resource Board (CARB). These regulated products now require manufacturers to receive a CARB Executive Order (EO) exemption for any specific vehicle and part number combination to be legally sold or used in California. If Hypertech has not yet received a CARB EO for a regulated product, then the product is not legal for sale or use in California and is considered by Hypertech to be a California Restricted Product."

Thanks for posting up the extra information. Appreciate it.

What a joke the regulations are in CA. I won't even get started because it will derail this thread. Looks like I will have to come up with a way to get someone to send me one from out of state as well.

I just spoke with Hypertech, and they said they only offer inline calibrators for the 16+ tacos. Not sayin the tech can't be wrong, but does anyone have a non-inline?

Lets say I buy one now but in 2 years get a new truck. Its locked to my old truck, is there a way to unlock it to move it over to my new vehicle or am I forced buying a whole new unit?
