It’s dangerous to go alone! Take this.

    Updates-

Replaced the LCA Cam tabs and bolts with a kit from KPOffroad, based on a post from @ForestRunnerFrank99 promoting/selling them.

In typical Eric fashion, I wasn’t content with just swapping them out. After staring at them on my desk for a week I got time to swap them out. Pretty easy overall. However, even though I know better, I didn’t think to treat the bare steel cams. So after instal was all done and everything toqued, shared pictures and saw someone else that installed them… but he treated his.. I went ahead and removed them and, primed and painted. Not it’s all good. Following pics are before I treated them… great product!

Got a set of BAMF shackle hangers and over about 8 hours removed the old ones and installed the new. Some new pictures in this thread somewhere.
The ride does seem improved! The first thing I noticed and tried, was reversing into the driveway. It used to feel a wired bounce when the back would go over that (and speed bumps) but that seems to be gone now. The ride also felt different but it’s tough to describe the actual feeling. A nice (heavily involved) mod done.

What’s next? I’m not sure but I’ve been eyeing snorkels…

I swapped out the springs from the 827# “B” springs to the 720# “A” springs.
At first, I matched wrong and had them set at like 3.5” lift which is way to much. The ride was probably a little worse than before. At this height, the front had a weird rebound after going over speed humps.
I dropped the height but about .5” on the coils, and the ride ended up a lot less stiff but still had the weird bounce after speed humps. Went down another .25 then another .25.” I’ve had time to drive around with the latest and it rides great. Don’t get me wrong, the ride was never bad, I just had higher expectations. Once the truck settles more after another week or 100 miles, I’ll measure the current height.

Hi all, I decided to start a thread on my truck. Some of you might already know me, I’ve been around a couple of years already and am pretty active here.
This is my 2nd Tacoma. My first was a 2006 Access Cab, TRD Sport 6 speed. She was a great truck but I needed something for a kid. I ended up trading her in for a Subaru Forester and kept that for a few years. My commute went from 10 miles to 72 each way so I traded the Forester in for a Prius. While my commute was still 72 miles each way I only had to go into the office once or so each week. My wife recommended I get another truck and within a few days I had a Midnight Black Metallic TRD Off-Road. I wanted the OR this time since when I had the sport, I could have used the locking diff. Decided the scoop was not worth it over that and the terrain control. I had to get an automatic this time in case my wife needed to use it and she had no interest to learn to drive stick Anyway, enough about the back story, here’s what I’ve done in the past 2 years-

Upgraded the suspension to the Ironman Foam Cell Pro stage 1 with 826 (originally) lbs/in springs (wayyy to high of a rate for me. As of 2/3/22 I swapped out the 826# springs for the 720# and it helped a lot.

Stage 1 also included new leaf packs, not an AAL.
See my review thread here- https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/7-19-21-updated-ironman-foam-cell-pro-review.687891/
Sticking with suspension and similar components-
    SPC Uppers
    Front Sumo-Superspring bump stops
Rear Timbren Active Off Road bump stops with U-bolt flip kit
    ECGS Bushing
255/85/16 Cooper St Maxx wrapped on SCS BR6 Bronze wheels
Other things I’ve done or added-
    @CaliRaisedLed front skid plate
RRW Sliders with top plate and kick out
    @WarFab Armor Sheridan hitch skid
Swapped OEM halogen lights for the OEM LEDs with harness from @daveeasa .
    Some goodies from @MESO
    OTT tune
V5 turn signals, white DRL with reverse turn
Stage 1 total tail light kit (along with swapping out for non chrome tail lights)
Meso push to start button swap
    Hidden bumper light
    Ditch lights
    Bug/rock deflector
    In channel visors
Window Tint, 30% all around with 5% windshield strip
    Pro grill with raptor lights
    Front camera
    Dash Cam front and rear
    Heated seats
Infinity Reference REF-9633ix 6x9 door speakers
    DS18 Pro-st tweeter
    MESE Puddle Pods
    VLED Aqua footwells
Screen Protect infotainment and dash cluster
OEM tailgate lock for key fob
(Themed) Reverse light glare protectors from @sphinxbccp
Legend of Zelda inspired Bedside decal from @CBoy808
Legend of Zelda inspired wheel stickers

I think that’s all for now. In the future, I’m looking at a scooped hood, roof rack, awning and other skids. I’m waiting on the 720# Ironman springs.
I’ve even taken my truck off road and beach driving! So slightly more than a mall crawler, I also pick my kid up from school, go to Chick-Fil-A and Dairy Queen!

    800+ springs good lord!!!!

My truck weighs 6k lbs steel armor all around, 34" tires, winch, lights, gear, etc and I have 700lb springs and was warned they might be to stiff, frankly I like a slightly firmer ride and I think it's perfect but I couldn't imagine 800+ springs on a stock truck, talk about dump truck ride.

OP I would actually recommend 650lb springs if you plan to modify or 600lb if you plan to stay stock ish for a good while.

Better yet call or PM @AccuTune Offroad for better information on what you should run.

Diggin' the Zelda stuff, name her yet? (Epona?)

I think the pro grille looks the best on black. Just the infinity 6x9 ways? Everything else stock radio wise? How are the tweeters on those?

Thanks! And no, no name for my truck, even after 2 years of having her. I like Epona, but it just doesn’t fit lol.
I’ve actually talked with @AccuTune Offroad a few times and was looking at 600 or 650 lbs springs but I’d have to figure out some things for it. I’d have to use 3.0 ID springs meant for 2.5 struts, like king, fox/Eibach or others. The problem with that is the iromman springs are only flat on one end, the top hat side. The others are flat on both. While looking for a part that would work for the perch, which I think I’ve found a few that might, I ultimately just ordered the 720# spring offered now by Ironman. I decided that it’s meant to work together and probably safer than mixing and matching.

I also think that maybe the translation from N/mm to lbs/in could be wrong but I’ve not gotten another answer.

also, great profile pic, it always makes me think of Anna from Fire Emblem.

    Thanks for stopping by!

Thanks and me too. Yea, just the infinity 6x9s. The only reason I chose those over tweeters was price at the time. I got them on Black Friday for cheaper than any decent tweeters, even the Subaru ones. At some point I’ll upgrade the tweeters but I think the doors helped quite a bit.
