Not much new on my truck since the last update. I did put my 255s back on now that winter is over. Some plans for the future, looking at new tires, and a wishlist of higher end suspension (Dobinsons MRR, 8112s or Kings), snorkel (wife does not trust me to cut my fender) and gears.

 

I’m excited to see what you decide to do next.

What gears would you go with…4.88’s?

I think I’d just skip to the 5.29 gears. That way I can be ready if I ever get to go 35” tires. Gotta look good at Home Depot

 

Yeah that’s not a bad idea, it would really suck to spend all the money to regear and then be like “whoops, gotta do it all over again”.

 

Right, that’s what I want to avoid. Well, if I ever get the chance lol.

 

Yeah I’m like you, I have about 13 things I want to do but I have the funds for 0 of those 13 things lol

 

And then it’ll be time to prioritize the list.

 

I’ve also been looking at (would not actually go through with it) spacers to go from 6x5.5 lug pattern to a 5x115 pattern and get a set of the rock warrior wheels.

I’m not sure what it is about those wheels but I think they are some of the best looking wheels. It’s a shame how rare the 6x5.5 version are.

 

Oh interesting, I’ve never really looked at rock warrior wheels at all. I just had my 55K mile service interval done, does that count as a mod? lol

 

It counts enough, I’m sure there are people that don’t do any service

Ordered a new set of tires today! I won’t get them on till the end of next week.

Now another question, should I find a cheap 16” wheel to put one of the better 255/85s on there for a spare? Then I’d have a similar size spare put a complete OEM set

sounds good… I’ve got to wait to get them too. Having them shipped to the installer since I’ll be out of town when they would be delivered.

Hopefully I made the right choice. Lots and lots of options at the price point I was looking at.

Ooohh the Baja boss??

 

Yep! After looking at all the brands, reviews, posts and cost, I settled on these. I almost went with the legend EXP but the Boss AT have the snow rating and are supposed to be great in rain.

These were a late contender as originally out of my price range. With the 100 rebate, a sale and price match, they came to the same price as the other brands I was looking at.
