I am looking to get a bed cap for my truck, at least I think that is what they are called. The only brand I know of is Leer I was wondering if that is a good brand. Mainly I'm looking for a cheap one that won't cost too much. I saw this link http://www.automotiveconcepts.net/store/Toyota-Tacoma_product_12688611183.html?utm_source=google_products&utm_medium=organic to a bed cap but it doesn't look like my Tacoma my Tacoma does not have the extended cab it only seats 2 people. I have looked online a lot and I have not found one that fits the single cab Tacoma.

I should mention that I have a 1998 Tacoma. Any ideas would help me out a lot because I don't know much about truck parts thanks.

If you dont mind a used camper shell/topper you might try Craigslist. Who knows you might get lucky and find one thats the same color as your truck.

Now that I think about it, it might be easier and cheaper for me to just get a tonneau cover for now. Anybody know what the best brand is I guess.

I guess what I'm looking for is the best quality that keeps your bed very dry or free from water and it doesn't cost a lot and is easy to put on and take off and I can get it within 2 weeks or less.

Call up Luke at 800-958-7576 at truckalterations and tell him you want the cheapest one they have. He'll probably be able to give you a pretty good deal on the covers. Tell him that you read about it on Tacoma World.

Thanks I just called him and he gave me a decent deal I think he told me about the Access Literider for $279.99. I am still thinking about it but I might do it

I looked them up online and found some info on it and the deal is really good here are the links I found on them

    http://dynoproducts.net/tonneau/literider/accesslr.htm

    http://www.ultimatetruck.com/products/access_literider_roll_up_tonneau_cover.aspx?year=1998&make=1093&model=21226

and I also found this I was wondering if I should also buy this with it.

    http://www.truckalterations.com/html/trailseal.html

I was also wondering how weather proof the Access Literiders are. If anyone knows about them that would also be great, but I guess I can always call that place again and ask them myself. I just want to get as much info on this as possible before I make my decision.

Willy, I looked at your soft top camper idea and man! $560 seems a bit high. If you can live with your gear beaing unsecure and watchung out for tree branches then go with it.

I would nix the soft top camper idea and look for a used fiberglass topper. I know they are hard to find, but they come and go on other forums all the time. They usually sell for $300-$400.

If you can wait it out, take your time and find a used fiberglass topper...
