I was wheeling a local trail, as I came out of a mud muddle with my wheels cut to the right I hit a straight up and down rock with the tread on the tire.

I bent something.. But I don't know what.

Prior to the incident my alignment was pretty neutral, cam bolts were straight up and down, tie rod was in the middle, and my upper ball joint was in the center of the track (LR UCA's).

Now both cam bolts are maxed all the way out, my tie rod is pulled all the way in, and my upper ball joint is slid all the way to the outside.

When I hit you could see the difference between the straight wheel and the cocked one.

When it was put on the rack it was so far out it didn't have any numbers to display lol!

NOTHING looks bent, but its clear something is! Has anyone done something similar? what did you bend? Does anyone have an idea about what I should check out? I can't go replace my entire front end.. My wallet just isn't that deep!

On the plus side there was a pretty awesome video made!

Somebody a while back did the same thing. Wheel turned to max and hit a solid concrete pier or block and bent the spindle / knuckle.

Did it align correctly? You may have just knocked it out of alignment without damage. I know there is at least one person on here who tack welds the alignment cams so they don't move on hard hits.

I'll take a look at the knuckle when I'm doing my axle seals! I imagine I won't be able to see anything, but that does make the most sense!

My camber is a degree out and my toe is within spec, so it works for me for now! Obviously where all of my alignment adjustments are maxed it won't do so well the next time! And I imagine a hit hard enough to bend something probably weakened it.

    Thanks for the info!
