If you guys have seen my other threads about installing cruise control on my 1996 Tacoma, you know how frustrated I am with it! The short version is that I went about obtaining what I thought, were all the parts I would need to have "factory" cruise control on my Tacoma, but everytime I turned around, something kept coming up that threw a wrench into it! So I finally gave up and bought a Rostra Universal Cruise Control for my 1996 Toyota Tacoma. I keep looking at it in the box, and wondering where to start! The Rostra videos do not do much good, although their manuals seem ok, although still somewhat confusing. Does anyone have any suggestions on this before I throw caution to the wind? I DO promise to update and provide pictures of this project if and when I do start it, as I think it will be a great service to all of you guys out there. So any advice would be good, and I will update later on. Thanks!

Wow, Thanks, cruiserguy. What a great post! The guy did a great job of documenting and taking pictures of what he did. However, I have a 1996 Tacoma 2.4 and automatic. His was a 2003, and there are many differences. But this is what I have been running into, as there don't seem to be any better documentations of someone doing a Rostra cruise control in a 1996. From what I understand, the 95-99 tacomas are almost identical, so if anyone knows of someone who did this with any of those years, it would be great, although again, the link cruiserguy provided above, is a great help.
