DON'T BELIEVE THE DATE ON THE PHOTO'S
I know it’s not the prettiest bed out there but it works.
I plan on taking a trip from Ontario to Up State NY and VT for some mountain biking next week.
I wanted to keep it cheap because I am going without the family, so I built a sleeping platform in the bed of the truck.
It’s only a 5 Ft bed and I am 5.9 but I will make it work. I am an Infantry soldier so have slept in a lot worse.
    1) Got some 1/2 plywood
    2) got a 2X10X10. (Cut in half)
    3) grabbed some old fence boards I had laying around.
    4) Put it all together and carpet.
I did cut some access panels in it but they didn't turn out how I wanted it to. oh well.
    50$ Canadian.
Sorry about the Pics but I can't figure out how to post them up so I can put comments on each photo.

Nice job man, really digging how you utilized all the space in your bed by making those slots.

Mike, great job!.....I ordered a Leer cap this week and I plan on building a removeable setup very similar. My 6 year old son is giddy about the idea of sleeping in the truck.:) My plan is to use it for MTB and family excursions as well.I found a great pictorial on the web from a guy with a first gen that did quite a job before he and his wife set out for Baja for a couple of months....Did you happen to see it?
