I am hoping they (I taking my spare) will be safe on the trailer hitch bike rack.

 

Looks good just be careful, I did some camping in the back of my Tundra with a topper, I tend to sit straight up when I wake up ouch watch your head.

 

Mike I really like what you did for a short bed. Hope you don't mind someone copying it.

thanks ive been looking on there every once in awhile. guy at work said he has one he'd give me just needs some repair.

 

I like your design. I'm a big guy (6' 280 lb) so those two center support beams would be a must for me. Saw some other designs that were very clean but no support.

 

Late to the party, but reall considering building a similar setup in my DCLB. I like the idea of the center support since I'm about 6'2" and 220, and expect a payload of about 400lbs or less with another person and stuff.
Like the idea of those storage containers you have in there as well, any chance you have a link to what you ended up using?
