Create a more attractive reward for them elsewhere. And a cat. However, the cat will return the dead ones to your front door.

A 5 gal. pail next to your truck. put a board(ramp) going up to the top.
    Drop some food in.
They will get in but they can't climb out.
    Works for chipmunks.

Yup. If you want to speed up the job, put a few inches of water at the bottom of the bucket..Brutal but once they're in my garage there's no limits to getting them out. hah

Give the toothless cat a gun?

Just kidding, sorry I couldn’t help myself.

Can you park the truck somewhere else? You could also call an exterminator and see if they can help you out. I’m sure that would be cheaper than repeatedly having to dig out the mouse nest and fix all the damage from the repeated mouse intrusion. Especially if it starts eating wires.

Customer had a major engine bay mouse/rodent issue. Set one of these up and swears it eliminated the issue 100%.

    Thought I would share.

The biggest worry when using any type of 'poison' (e.g., baking soda, borax, etc) is that you have no control of where the creature slithers off too so it can gasp it's dying breath; hopefully that's not up under your dash area!

I have these installed on our vehicles after a mouse built a nest in our Prius and was making its way through the wiring harness. We live adjacent to 3,000 acres of open space so it's hopeless to try to eradicate them. I got a similar product for under our house and in our shed. No joke, as soon as I plugged it in in our shed, a mouse poked it's head out, then scrambled out of there. It's not 100%, but they definitely don't like the ultrasonic noise. So far so good :fingerscrossed:

I’ve had a mouse in my truck as well. Thankfully he/she didn’t do any damage.

Had good luck with peppermint oil. I put a couple drops on the cabin air filter and throughout the engine bay. Along with some moth balls around the carport area.

I also have an electronic frequency rodent repeller wired in under the hood.

Non deadly- Pop hood ever night and run a string of leds to keep the engine bay well lit.

I run rat traps on the intake and both fender wells. Catch them all the time.

I bought "mouse blocker" from Amazon for my wife's car. Worked gretonce we evicted them and cleaned out any houses they built. Can be set to be always on or set to turn off once vehicle is started.

About 1/year I have one die - in a trap I set - that flopped way up into an access space for my tub.
I can't get the body out so I gotta suck up a couple days of rotting mouse smell!!

I love those 'binder clip' style traps!!
Use em in my garage and crawl space.

My house is surrounded by woods; I used to have issues with mice.
I even had em nest in a sports car that is stored in my garage.
I moved the trash halfway down the front drive and stopped keeping the supposedly sealed dog food in its bag [sealed plastic box now]. One bag was ruptured, I didn't realize, and some mouse started a nest in the sports car - luckily I caught it quickly.
I also keep the yard cut back/leaves blown much better = solid perimeter and I have a few snakes that live just outside of the house.

I catch a few each year, usually when it gets really cold or it rains so much that the ground gets saturated but keeping the food sources to a minimum helped significantly.

Thank you for your service OP!

Put that same type of insulation material in a pile on the floor. Soaked with poisons.

That's a tough situation. I did the peppermint oil thing with pouches around, under the intake after they chewed my knock sensor harness. They got into my air box as well . Put a hardware cloth (rat wire) screen over the intake. Both seem to work so far.
