Long story short I was doing an audio upgrade on my 2019 Tacoma Sport. I was in the process of reinstalling the front seat after running all new wiring. The metal rail from the seat brushed against the bottom left part of the steering wheel and now it has a minor abrasion. It isn't riped but looks a little crinkled. Anything I can do to smooth it out?

Consider a heat gun. Careful since it might give it a cheap-plastic-shine look.

The leather? If so, not much you can do. A new steering wheel is probably $1200. Sorry man. That totally sucks.

    Working on them
Get some Lexol leather care / conditioner don't put it on the entire steering wheel just gently work in in on the marked up area after that don't go buy new wheel or worry about it that much as long as it is not cut through it will be ok. don't heat it up that can shrink it and result in more issues

Like I said. It's relatively small.

It's subjective, I know that. But that seems minor. I was expecting something serious. You're the only one that will ever know it's there.

Congrats on the new rig. Now move on and enjoy the truck and life

I know this is probably the first blem on your brand new truck but I think I would categorize this under "Shit Happens".
More importantly... What did you do for the audio upgrade?

I went with Morel Ultra Tempo 692 Components for the front. Morel Ultra Tempo Integra 602 coaxials in the rear. All powered by an Audio Control D-6.1200 Amp/Dsp. I ran 14 gauge ofc speaker wire to all the doors. I will be sound deadening the doors with Soundskins Pro. I have 33 sqft on hand but I just haven't had the time to get it all done. I'll be putting in an 8 or 10 inch Morel Primo and using the existing amp to power it. I just haven't figured out how I want to go about it yet.

I think that blemish will work itself out. After some time in the sun. I wouldn't touch it. See what it looks like in 3 months. I bets nearly gone.
