TB @ every 85-90k is better than risking it failing and doing some damage. Could you go past 90k? Sure. Question is do you want to risk it?

Some people, out there, don't understand how maintenance really works. You don't wait for shit to fail, you do it before.

Check your timing belt cover for a service sticker. If the timing belt was done by a shop, they usually slap a sticker with the date/mileage of when it was serviced. If it's there, you may be good to go with the timing belt.

I also agree with the others saying to do some maintenance stuff. Since you are not the original owner, do things that you are not sure if they were done, but should have been. Things like plugs, lower ball joints, timing belt, water pump, filter (oil, air, fuel), and fluids (oil, diff, tranny, coolant, etc) are all good things to start off fresh as the new owner. Having these done will give you a good piece of mind knowing that they're taken care of. A truck that runs well is a hell of a lot better than a truck that looks good but broken down in the driveway.

Non interference engine. Plus, many people said they replaced their TB at 200k-300k, belt looked great.

But hey, piss your money away if you want. It's a tacoma, not a ferd. Doesn't need an anal level of maintenance, except the damn ball joints.

It's all good. Wasn't meant to be an attack just stating that I personally don't mind replacing it every 85-90k. Not a waste of coin IMO considering the damage that can happen if it fails. Each to their own. :bananadance:
