I have an air bubble in my heater core.

    I moded 1999 Taco so much it had turned to Land Cruiser
    It sounds like its very early stage, if you continue driving with it it bound to get worse especially after summer.
    I would still do the tests just to make sure, but also would consider possibility that this will have to be done.
    If you catch early, most of the time head does not have to be machines (or not a lot) if you wait it becomes major PITA.
    Sort of like a tooth. Fix small hole now or a root canal later.

    I hate to wake up an old thread but too many go open ended like this one. And I see you are still here on the forums at 350+k!! What ever came of this? I've had air in my heater core for 5 years now, gave up trying to remove it because it seemed persistent. At 140k now, and last weekend I bled it twice and thought I finally got it. However....its back, and I fear the worst just like you did.
