Good grief... it does not matter who is in the white house, everyone bitches about it. Unfortunately that will never "change."

My truck has small balls and I love it. It is everything I need in a vehicle. I am actually saving money by driving a newer truck... go figure.

A very wise man named Carlin once quipped an anecdote about politics and politicians being a lot like reeds around a lakeshore.

The wind moves through them from all angles and changes a lot (elections), and they make a lot of noise and draw a lot of attention....but at the end of the season, for all the fussy noise, they really didn't move very far left OR right.

But they're still there and still growing, like a weed should.

    Ahem. *cough*

    Threadjack over indeed.

I still think the idea of our 2.7s having 'no balls' is either an urban myth, or from someone that drove with their grandmother in an automatic version with a trailer on the back or something.

Or they just don't know how to shift/drive. *shrug*

    Well stated.

The truck specs are posted and available prior to purchase so how can the truck be complained about or called deficient.

It hauls and tows reasonable loads and in capable of maintaining maximum safe highway speeds. Doesn't sound deficient

If otherwise purcased, then it sounds like someone "settled" or didn't research prior to purchase.

At some point a vehicle is like a bathroom; an interuption in where you what to be.

I like my Yota alot more than any vehicle I've owned, but I don't forget it is just a tool.

Back when the whole world was on Toyota's butt for the unintended acceleration thing, a buddy and I were driving on the highway @ 60mph or so when he asks "aren't you worried the throttle may stick?". I pushed the pedal to the floor. After about 10 seconds, we had "raced" all the way to 67mph or so. I looked over and said "no, not really.......".

I hauled 1700 pounds yesterday with my 4 banger. 1200 pounds of hardwood flooring, 3 back packs of gear, a few sleeping bags, a compressor (not pictured), a nail gun (not pictured), 2 brooms (not pictured), and 600 feet of 1/4 round molding (not pictured). :D I had one inch to spare above the bump stops, but that was before me and my buddy were sitting in the truck. She handled the load like a champ though!

I drive 45k miles/yr. Gas mileage is way more important to me than stupid mods and being able to spin tires or outrun people at red lights.

My I4 gives me an extra week of round trips to work with every fill up vs. the V6. That's with every single tank.

It doesn't take long to see the savings in the wallet and in nasty, extractive, war causing gasoline.

4 banger suits me just fine. Owned 5 4cyl Nissan Hardbody/Frontiers before buying this '11 Taco 4 cyl. And my wife drives our 4th 4 cyl Camry.

    But...my other car is an '06 350Z! And that replaced my '91 MR2 turbo.:D

    I did ~1420 a couple weeks ago.

28 IBM workstations, 7 HP 4000-series laser printer stacks with extra trays and duplexers, two servers, half a dozen UPS batteries, and of course my usual tool box of goodies. Did the math on the way home and checked the numbers...she handled like a champ. Plenty of oomph and never a problem getting up to speed.

The brakes were pretty unhappy about the whole trip though....over 100 miles.

I would agree that the brakes don't necessarily like it, but I never felt unsafe. I just took it easy. My trip was about 55 miles. I'm amazed at how much these little trucks can do.

Good mileage, easy to work on. I got speed out of my system long ago. This grandparent has nothing to prove anymore. Not fast...just reliable. Of course the 4.88's, header and Magnaflow exhaust keep me from falling all over myself to merge into a freeway...212K and counting.

I don't know why ppl keep saying its not fast. No its not as fast as a V6 but it gets me up to 100mph and right into the govenor in no time. It's faster than I need. I love my truck more than any vehicle I've ever owned.

If I wanted a FAST truck, I wouldn't have wasted my time with a V6 Taco, I would have been driving a Lightning or a Ram SRT-10.

I love how the 2.7 Taco drives.... keeps me out of trouble! :D

Exactly. When I want to burn out or get to 60 MPH in 4.5 secs I drive the Dinan S2 M3 as that is what it is made to do:
