I made a thing for switches because the thing I wanted didn't exist.

ARB switches are Carling style and are simply to big for the location without cutting into the surrounding panel so none of the switch panel are designed to for them. I know there's one person somewhere in this thread that modified a panel for Carling switches but it took some butchery to get there.

Toyota push button switches are the only way to get 3 switches into the cubby. You might get 3 rockers in there but it's going to be jammed and probably won't work well or look that great.

Can someone please take a simple picture of where you place the pry tool to remove the cubby hole on the '16 OR manual transmission? I don't want to beat the hell out of the panel by prying the wrong part. I just received the three-switch panel and am eager to get going.

I pulled that off two different times and it seemed like the second time it didn't want to pop off as easy because the tabs are pretty strong. Stealing the image from the OP:

The bottom left tab is right below where "off" is on the switch above. The top one would be about that same place. You should be able to scoop a curved pry tool on the side or bottom middle of it to get it hooked, and start working it to pop loose. This is the kind of panel where a couple of pry tools may help as you can keep one jammed in bottom preventing a tab from locking itself back in place as you work another pry tool around the rest of the edges.

In the end when you really just need to give it a pull as the tabs are pretty resilient and wont want to just pop off easy like a lot of the other trim like the radio bezel or window switches.

Many thanks, gorram, for the explanation. If I get time today, I will try. If it works, will snap a picture.

Nothing yet - just got it two days ago!
    Where to pry....

The best place is from the top. The center of the top doesn't have any attachment clips. The clips are to the right and left.

Place your pry tool in the blue circled area. The clips are located at the sides (blue arrows):

Here is a view of the top. You can see that there are no clips. Insert your pry tool there, get your fingers in (eventually!) and pull out + down.

    POP.

    Out it comes.

    upload_2017-4-11_9-40-56.jpg

    I hope that helps.

If the replacement switches are brighter than the factory switches, couldn't you wire the switch led's in series? Wouldnt 3 in series be 1/3 as bright? Can someone with electrical expertise verify this?

    None (yet)
    Three questions:

    1) Where's the best place to buy the smaller push-button style switches for the 3-switch panel (which I just ordered)
    2) Do the push-button style switches illuminate when the dash lights are on (presuming you wire it to a key-on source)?
    3) Will the push-button switches still operate the attached accessory (lights, etc.) even when the keys are off presuming the other pin is wired to a constant-hot source?

(I'm not an electrical expert, thus the rookie questions. Want to do this the right way obviously!)

Seems you pop the OEM bezel off the dash and this panel goes in behind it then pop the OEM bezel back into the dash.

It's super easy. Whichever one you guys get from shapeways (2 or 3) panel for the left hand side cubby replacement.

    1. Stick a small flat head on the panel corners and pop it out

    2. 4 screws hold the cubby in (Phillips)

    3. Unscrew and put shapeways Bezel in, fits like a glove.

Panel come off extremely easily just be gentle lol.

    Pic on next reply

Don't know how I missed this but I did. I ordered but luckily did not install the 3 switch metal plate. I'd rather not put 4 drill holes in the dash when I don't need to. Just ordered this plate. Excited but now my lighting project must wait until this plate comes.
