I made a thing for switches because the thing I wanted didn't exist.

Alright, the three switch plate showed up yesterday. I must have had some kind of brainfart because I narrowed the switch pockets correctly, but didn't make them taller so my sample switch doesn't fit. That's okay though, that's exactly why I didn't offer this for sale until I had one in my hot little hands. Also the pocket location is off slightly, as seen here:

Little bit low and slightly too far to the right. Illustrated here:

Anyway, spent the last 30 minutes or so making adjustments to the model and now we're happy. Updated model uses slightly less material and cost is .02¢ less, sale price isn't changing from projected. Insert joke about value of my thoughts here. Purchase link for the updated model is here:

Cool, can't wait to see them installed. Glad this is something people are wanting.

Side note, switch plate for Carlings isn't going to happen, the base of the Carling switches is bigger than the opening and I'd rather not make them at all then require cutting the lower dash. As I type that I might have just come up with the solution, recess the switch in the plate and attach the rocker over the dash. That might work. If there's demand I might try it, but for now it's just the two.

    Thanks everybody.

Are the factory switches backlit with white or blue led?

They're blue. Of the two different brand switches I have on hand (Cruiser Heads and a random AliExpress switch) neither quite matches OEM. Thankfully the steering wheel keeps them out of sight so it doesn't bug me so much.

So much easier to just take a RC4WD Mojave or Tamiya HiLux body and modify it with styrene, kinda like how pardonmyn00b made his 4Runner:

Jumping in on this for future. I want to get some lights and this would be perfect for some good looking switches.

sub'd for pictures / videos of install when someone gets one of the new switch plates ordered.

Just thinking outloud here, but this would also be a perfect time to do the garage door opener mod w/ a temporary push button in one of those holes; the current cubby hole is only serving as a home to my current garage door opener anyway so time to put it to better use!

I have an Mbot Cube, but it's currently out on loan to my brother who lives a couple hundred miles away. It's okay, but I'd probably go another route if I was starting fresh.

yea i was just curious. My boss and I floated around with the idea of buying one of the cheaper ones on the p card for work. but they didnt seem to have the robustness and quality and once you get out of that 1-2K range, they jump in price big time

Mine is fine for verifying that a product works, but the quality just isn't there for a product I would sell.

Damn it, now the wheels are turning. Don't know that I'm good enough to model it, but I could probably break up an already build CAD model into manageable pieces...
