airline approved. i would love TSA keyed locks! needs to fit a new over/under shotgun, and my bolt action rifle. my vow to hunt pigs only with a bow sucks at putting meat on the table consistently ;)

Does it need to be a hard case? CTD and a few other places have some sweet double rifle soft cases.
Edit: reread first post, check out the Hardigg Storm i3200. I'll see if i can find a pick of my old case...

I had couple of cabelas gift cards laying around so I got the boyt double scoped rifle case It got pretty good user reviews on cabelas and I wanted a case that was long enough for a Remington 870 super mag. I haven't transported anything in it yet, but it seems every bit as sturdy as a pelican or stormcase. It seemed like most of the other hard cases that cabelas carries have bad reviews of how they didn't hold up during airline travel.

By the way, I don't know if you want TSA approved locks for a firearm case. My understanding (which may be incorrect) is that only one person can have keys to the locks for a firearm case. If you use a TSA lock that can be opened by the TSA, then you and a whole bunch of other people can get into your case. Maybe someone else on here knows if this is true.

man i can tell you this, i researched cases for awhile. the bottom line is don't go cheap. i basicly boils down to about 50 to 60 bucks b/w a good and a great case.
it is kind of stupid to spend all that money on a trip hunting, and on equipment, and then put it in a bad case. i would either get a vanguard or skb case they are both airline approved. i am going to alberta in may and bought a skb double bow/rifle case it will hold two bows, a bow and a gun, two guns, etc. it was $200 shipped. it is tsa approved, the contents are covered buy the company up to 1,500, and has tsa locks. it is model # 2SKB-4114A .

May be too expensive for your price range but I am a big fan of pelican cases. The lifetime warranty is always a piece of mind and you can put any locks you wish on there. I have three of their gun cases.

For traveling you would definitely want a hard case, +1 for pelican or storm.
