Sorry dont know if this is the right area but im not really looking to buy sell or trade just looking for a service!!

I am located in fullerton california (orange county) and i have an already colormatched bsp grill with the middle cut out (shitty havent sanded it down yet) and i also have the grillcraft grill insert, however the look of the satoshi grille is really growing on me, is there anyone local (willing to drive to them) who could offer their services and help me make a satoshi?

nice looking truck eddie...I got the same exact CF hood and it compliments the BSP oh so well...

bro if you were closer I would gladly give you a hand at the Satoshi (RGM) mod...

here's how mine looks on my '06 BSP 4x4...Satoshi (RGM and RBM) the triangles are done now...but weren't complete when I took these pictures...I gotta take some new 1 but the trucks pretty dirty...haha I also used the Grillcraft MX Upper and Lower for my mods...I also order raw mesh from grillcraft to match for the triangles and the CF Hood...

1 thing you gotta notice is that the Grillcraft MX is meant to sit flush against the front of the grille...so it has a slight articulation in the mesh it curves/bow from the middle down to the bottom and up to the top...

there are 2 ways to mount the mesh grilles...you can put a bolt and use washers and nuts you will have to epoxy the bolt 1st to the back of the grille...

2nd you can do what I did...I went to home depot and bought a pack of Gradner Bender Mounting Bases...I believe I payed like $10 for a pack of 100...and purchase yourself some plastic epoxy while your at it...plastic epoxy is like $6-7 a tube and sets in 5-7 minutes...but I let mine sit for like 30 minutes before I touched it...you will also need a pack of zip ties...let me know if you want pics of how mines are mounted...

they look like this...but I got the pact in all black...

reason I did it that way if someone wants to get your grille or bash it in using either the bolt or zip tie method doesn't matter...

I am working on another way to mount mesh to the grilles...but you need to purchase raw mesh to make it work...its a lot more tedious but the finish when looking at the back of the grille will look 20x cleaner...i'll post a write up on this way once i'm done...

Is it that much more difficult to do using a grillcraft? I've done a few using my own metal, but I'm just starting one for my friend and he has the grillcraft insert. Same steps right?

nope its not hard to make the grillcraft MX mesh work...1 thing you have to notice is the the upper and lower MX mesh is formed at fitted for to sit flush against the front of the grill and bumper...because its like that you will notice when fitting and placing the MX mesh on the back of the grille and bumper that it has a slight curve or arch to the mesh...what I did is sand down the high spots to better conform to the mesh when its attach to the back of the grille...that way when you mount the mesh and secure it your not putting strain on the mountings points and bending the mesh to conform...because I sanded down the high spots and made the back of the grill to conform to the mesh my mesh sits a lot more perfect and snug...

take your time and you'll know exactly what I mean...let me know if you need pics...good luck bro and keep us posted...

Oh ok so I just have to take into account the slight curve of the grillcraft. That won't be too bad. I use to mount mine with the bolts but I've been switching over to the zip tie tabs that you glue on becuase they are so easy to use. That and a couple of my bolts popped off after a few months.

I said articulation but I actually used the wrong terminology...rofl...

what I meant is that if you look at the grillcraft mx you will see that its slightly bowed out in the middle...meaning there is a slight curve to the mesh cause its meant to fit and sit flush on the exterior of the grill (in front)...because of this you want to sand down the aree you put fiberglass that way when you mount the mesh you aren't putting strain on the mounting points cause your pulling the mesh tight to conform to the grill...its 20x easier to make the grill conform to the mesh that way once the mesh is mounted it sits completely flush to the back of the grill...

I will get you picture once I get the chance...I work all day today and tomorrow...next day off is sunday...so that might be the 1st chance I get to take some new pics...please bare with me...

my original CF Hood that was shipped to me...my buddy shane cut the water sprayer out for me...sucks cause he did all that work for me and the company ended up cracking my hood...so FEDEX payed for the damages and bought me another Hood...

that sucks that it lifts for you at high speeds...

but I am going to remove my CF Hood and finally attach the water sprayers and my AEROCATCH Carbon Fiber Plus Flush Locking Hood Latches...that way no one can steal my CF Hood or open the hood to get to my engine without the key...:D

here's where I got the Aerocatch CF Locking Hood Latches and what they look like...http://www.deftracing.com/aerocatch_hood_pins/aerocatch_carbon_plus_flush_locking_hood_latches.htm

either method works...just remember if they really want to brake your grille or steal the mesh its as easy as a jab...

but I agree using plastic tabs with plastic epoxy holds 100x better...and its cheaper and easier to work with...I haven't had any problem with my plastic epoxy and tabs...its almost been a year for me too since I completed the grill and bumper...

hood pins only look good on race cars...IMHO

these I guarantee are secure as fuck...even by the time some figures out how to break the hood latches i'll be outside with my Herstal FN 5.7 point at either their nuts or the back of their head...rofl

when the cops come i'll just tell them he fell and landed on a phillips screw driver...haha
