I need help about XM radio

Okay we bought a truck and the main thing that we asked for in the truck was XM. They said they all had the capability on the web site. But when in the dealership they said that they didn't have the radio and didn't know when it would be available. I'm sorry to say but being female I feel like they are treating me like I'm stupid. Has anyone else had problems with getting one installed in a 2011 Tacoma??

 

as i understand it, they are wired for sat-nav and satelite radio. if the dealership doesnt have yer interests in mind or dont want yer money, you can always go elsewhere to have it done and possibly save quite a chunk of cash. i plan on a in dash sat-nav/radio unit w/ ipod interface for mine soon and thats the direction ill head. tons of good info in the 2nd gen forum

 

What radio does it have? Yours most likely is pre-wired for XM but doesn't have the xm receiver/fit kit installed. The xm receiver and fit kit are around $200 for parts.

does your current radio have an AM-SAT button or just AM?

 

My wife has and add on sat radio for her car. I bought a dock kit for my 2011, real easy.

Sound plugs in through the Aux in, I just put the antenna on the top of the dash.

It works fine and I can put it back in her car simply and quickly.
