    Hello Everyone!

I am new to this whole forum thing! I am looking to upgrade my stock wheels and tires but am a little confused on what I should do! I guess I could start with what I have, 2017 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport in charcoal grey. I am looking to put the biggest tires that I can without having to have a lift kit installed. I was thinking about maybe adding a leveling kit in order to raise the front up a few inches or so. I do also tow a few trailers with the truck but it is mostly just my everyday commuter car. So my question is, what is the biggest tire I can go with a leveling kit and what size rim should I get, 16 or 17, also what is the best tire that I can get. I am looking for something agressive looking but also something that will not be very loud on the freeway. I like the BFG ko2 but I also really like the Nitto Ridge Grapplers. Any advice or help anyone is willing to give would be great!

    265/75r16 or 265/70r17

or if you want taller/ skinnier 255/85r16 or 255/80r17

    Please use the search function.

Is 265 the biggest that I can go even with the leveling kit?

Check out the Cooper Discoverer ST Maxx. They’re a hybrid MT/AT that wear well and aren’t too noisy:

A bunch of us have 255/85/16s and it’s been a great way to get 33s on a stock 3rd Gen suspension (255/80/17 is the same total size but more wheel / less meat on the tires)…..with no trimming / chopping whatsoever.....and the spare tire fits under a short bed without having to move the bracket

If you need a snow capable tire (something with that three-peak mountain snowflake “3PMSF” symbol) and don’t want to run a second set of dedicated winter tires, the it’s worth looking at the Cooper Discoverer AT3 4S....they’re an all-terrain with great winter capability

I skipped the KO2s in favor of the Cooper ST Maxx because I’ve read over and over that after about 30k miles the KO2s aren’t great in the wet, especially heavy rain (hydroplaning conditions). A few guys said they were fine (bit of a mixed bag really) but enough said they weren’t for me to shop around. Don't personally have the KO2s but I can say I'd buy the Coopers again now that I’ve had them.

If you’re feeling lucky, many say 275/70-17 work without rubbing. YMMV
