I have a diesel lawn mower with a plastic fuel tank... the fuel supply hose orifice is too small and it clogs up constantly with tiny debris. You have to remove the hose and either blow air into the hole or take a small stick or nail and clear the hole. The orifice cannot be drilled any bigger, the nipple is thin and cannot tolerate a bigger hole.
Is there any way to put a hose into the tank somewhere else and block off the original line or tee into it. The fuel gets so restricted that it will choke down the engine up the point of stalling, it's not good for the engine, fuel pump or injection pump.... and it's annoying having to stop every time I mow to clean out the fuel tank hole. I've dumped and cleaned the tank several times, always use a clean container to add fuel, it's just a ridiculously small hole... one time a small bug about the size of a housefly was blocking the hole. The fuel system has a good fuel filter... too bad the debris can never make it to the filter.... any suggestions?

    Maybe filter your fuel?

As you pour it in the tank

How do you get so much dirt in your fuel ??

You can always use the correct epoxy and install a bigger nipple .

Going to a larger fuel supply line will just clog the filter faster

I have a funnel with a screen, it honestly takes next to nothing to clog that hole. I've cleaned the tank several times, there isn't enough crap going through it to clog the filter very often. Any sediment at all clogs it, I'm gonna have to do something about it, like I said, a single bug clogged it this last time.

I have 500 gallon a fuel tank for off-road diesel, it goes through a filter when it comes out of the tank as well as when it is delivered. As far as I know the tank is exactly the same as it's always been. This has been a problem since we bought this mower in 05. It's an Iseki zero turn mower, it's actually a massey Ferguson Zt33, which is a rebranded Iseki. It's what I would consider commercial, yes. I don't know if it's a common problem, these mowers aren't very common around here, they aren't cheap... a search online didn't turn anything up.
