Since it has 5 coats of clear over the tint...I expect it to last at least a few years.

Quick update since I've recieved couple of PM's about this. The only prep I did to the taillights prior to painting was to spray some windex on the lights and clean them off with a wet cloth. The key is that they are completly clean. I did no sanding prior to painting.

Here's mine. Did them back in June of 09.

I did sand mine with 400 wet/dry paper prior to tinting. I also gave them a good cleaning with denatured alcohol.

As you can see, I spent a lot of time wet sanding and polishing. I put 4 coats of clear over the tint so I could sand and polish them until they were like glass. I sanded them up to 1600 grit and used a Power Ball on my battery drill with a liquid polishing compound.

 

No one has hit me yet....

Basicly the same reason why I did it.

 

Beautiful truck Phantom! If I am ever in your area we should definitely take pictures together! Gives me ideas for my own.
