damnit! there are so many choices!

i think i want a Sheridan that has been massaged by Mac1 airguns. he makes them bulletproof and powerful! but at $335, it isnt cheap. he turns them into sniping tools.

in california i can legally take a wild turkey with a pellet gun .20 or greater. i'll need a great pellet rifle.

buying my bow, rifles or pistols was easy by comparison.

I'm looking to get one soon too. Not sure which one I'm getting yet but I won't pay much more that $120. All I need is a break barrel that is ~1000fps. I hate Ruger but may get one of theirs.

Gamo makes good rifles. I have one of the break barrels in .17 that shoots at 100fps. I have killed many a squirrel with it using the open sights. Take a look at them

i dont know much about the Gamo. it is a piston spring gun right? can i leave it pumped up for a long time..like as i watch a turkey come in? or will i destoy the seals? besides, none of the GAmo at bass pro look to be in anything but .177.

    i need .20 or bigger.

Might I ask why you would want to hunt turkey's with a pellet gun? If you need to be challenged, use a bow... I prefer a 10 gauge myself :)

bow? pullleaze. killed this one with no blind. i was hiding behind a bush the size of my waste basket. i'm not flexible, i'm not small..it was no easy feat. waited until the bird's head was behind a small bush, came up, full draw..TWACK! 32 yards!

i bet a pellet gun is the same challenge. just to say i did it. my weapon of choice will always be my bow. going for my fourth bird this spring.

yeah....you can leave it for a while.......not days or anything tho:D. couple hours wont hurt it...especially if you oil it when needed. and they make some gamo's that are .22.

Pyramidair dot com has a good selection of all different caliber/types of air rifles to choose from.

You can buy a Air piston that replaces the spring so you can leave it
cocked for as long as you like and it won't affect it,
I believe this Is a common upgrade for the whispers.
And yes I Have A gamo viper express, It shoots .22 pellets
(the predators, red tipped, do some serious damage.)
AND it shoots small shot shells filled with #20 shot I believe. and that Is excellent
for small fast pests,(rats, mice, etc) and will kill a bird from about 20yds.

and you might have to order it, you can get a viper express, whisper,
and a hunter extreme in .22.
on the website there is a video of a guy killing a hog with one shot to the head from the hunter model.

Alright so you are good with a compound bow... How about trying a recurve with some home made arrows and arrow heads? A pellet gun just seems silly to me to hunt turkeys with. Just use a damn .22 rifle if your gonna do that.

one more time. it isnt LEGAL! no .22 rimfire.

i dont think a pellet rifle will be easy..not by a long shot. my bow has better range.
