Get the latest year you can get in the 1st gens ...which would be a 2004. At BEST - between 2001-2004. First Gen's have fallen prey to the frame rust issue/warrantee. Finding one in those years and it fails the frame rust inspection (via Toyota), they will replace the frame and you can keep the truck.

Any earlier than that and it fails - Toyota keeps the truck and will give you $$ for it.

The 3.4L V6 is a great motor. You can get the truck in Extended cab 6ft bed or double cab/shortie bed.

One with low mileage and excellent original condition.

The newer the better. 2003 or 2004 would be my bet.

    what region are you in?

what kind of terrain are you planning to take it into?

is this truck going to wheel or cruise the mall?

I lost track thousands of dollars ago.
I would go with a 2001-2004 TRD 4x4 but that's what I wanted. are you looking for a 4x4 or a 2wd. if you don't plan on going in the snow or off road i would get a 2wd. Make sure you jump under the truck and check for rust some dealers will spry the truck with under coating to make it look good so get under there and inspect it. Other then that low miles is a +
