Hello all new poster to tw longtime lurker,

I recently became the owner of my 13 dclb and want to add a small lift to it. The truck is my daily driver and I don't often get a chance to do any off-roading except for the occasional state park/fire roads. I plan to go up from the stock tires to a 32 and that's where I plan to stay for a while. The lift I think I've settled on is Bilstein 5100s all around, OME 884 coils, and General Springs Heavy duty leafs(only because I broke a leaf on Baltimore's crappy roads). Even after all my combing through TW I cant find anyone with a similar setup is there a reason or do people just tend to shoot for a 2+ inch lift? Also if my plan sucks are there any other budget friendly options for a 1.5-2 inch lifts?

What’s the rating on the leaf springs? You may not want heavy duty as they could be very stiff unloaded.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
From an add a leaf I went back to stock recall springs. Soft ride. Truck still doesn’t know the cap is there. Good luck whatever you do!

Love that topper! Is the truck at a stock height?

Yep. F it. Edit: but I appreciate your enthusiasm. If you don’t have them, I think you get a free set of the new recall rear springs from Toyota. Give ‘em a ding to find out

On my '07, I went with the 5100's and stock coils and the AAL in the rear. Have been very happy with it and I haul some weight from time to time and have a tonneau on all the time, and I've never felt that I needed stiffer springs in the rear.

5100's are hard to beat for a little lift and good ride.

My only issue there is a broken leaf on my drivers side. What setting was the 5100s set to with the stock springs?

5100's on stock coils set on 2nd notch (.85"). Rides great. 4 leaf pack (TSB) in rear.

Height wise, just go with what you want and what's needed.
If you're just going on fire roads, you probably don't even need a lift, as stock height is fairly capable in itself. Your ride will stiffen, front and back, with that setup. So just expect that.

I wasn’t looking for anything crazy either. I put on 3rd gen TRD OR suspension (kept my stock leafs minus overload) with an Icon 1.5” progressive AAL and 1/4” spacers. I think I netted somewhere around 1.25-1.5” in the front and 1.5” in the rear. These are 235/85/16 tires which are supposed to be 31.7”. I really like the ride although I’ve never tried 5100s, just base model shocks. Pretty budget friendly too, I spent $550 for everything.
