if they don't put a diesel in the Tacoma soon, I will be buying a diesel car. Most likely a 335D.

actually I hear $500 early '90's Honda Civics get better mileage, and don't look gay.

Originally not Expo AF! Kinda Expo AF now...lame.
I realized why the v6 is likely the biggest you'll ever see in the Taco after owning 2 of them. No need for more. It's got alot of torque and paired with a good transmission. It had NO problems towing my 4000 - 4500# travel trailer.

The limitations with the Tacoma is regard to towing isn't power, it's weight, length and width.

More engine = more weight = worse MPG and probably some compromise in the offroading department too for those who like to wheel.

I'd love to see a 4.5L duramax in my Silverado, but just like the Taco diesel, it's not gonna happen I don't think.

The good news? You can supercharge the Taco and it will solve all your problems but MPG :)

Because they are superior engines and get excellent economy. They burn a fuel that is one of the safest fuels around and isn't as affected by foreign oil supplies like gasoline is due to the fact that we can make it on our own. It is one of the engines that will still be around with all of the other alternative fuel engines. Gasoline engines are at risk for a huge phase-out with the exception of older gas engines in classic cars.

Diesel, but my second choice isn't listed. It would be the 4.6L instead of the 4.7L.

And you can mod it up to your eyeballs and they will still get awesome mileage and go fast.
