I have factory mud guards on, but it isn't forming on the outside, it is running down inside the door. I'm pretty sure it is coming from the melt-off from the cowl with engine heat, or the roof as FHC suggested. Happens every day when it is cold/snowing out, whether I am driving or parked.

Going to check with the dealership in the morning to see if anyone else has seen this. One of the Techs there has the same truck and he is usually quite helpful.

Small world indeed! Not over at East Ave very often, but you might catch me over at the Hylan Drive store!

Get a remote starter, leave the heat on high before you park it. Start it remotely in the morning and let it melt.

Some kinda heated rubber boot, like they put on aircraft, might work. But that's probably way too involved to be reasonable. Let us know what the dealership recommends, I'll be looking closely at my own truck tomorrow morning for sure!

Try one of the hydrophobic sprays on the area where ice builds up, it will keep water from sticking anywhere near the door jamb- scotch guard sells one for fabric, there is a wax variety and this polymer one that may be a good choice for your paint and door parts too;https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00D...obic+spray&dpPl=1&dpID=41sXjCTVz1L&ref=plSrch

They are really cool, you can spray it on a leather glove and dunk it in water, mud or even wet cement and it will come out totally clean and dry!

Take the fender liners out and run the drainage lines a little longer by adding lengths to the rubber lines L&R that come out right in the a pillar area (front door hinge pillar)in that area you can add a length of line that comes out lower.

Why aren’t you at the dealership saying words like defect and warrantee?

Pretty sure it’s from the cowl. My truck was melted off, we had some rain/sleet last night then the temps dropped. Then this morning it was raining when I came out to the truck. Nothing anywhere else as temps were slightly above freezing.

You could clean it out really well, then try spraying a thick layer of fluid film. It might help prevent water build up and just run off the truck. Just a thought.

My issue was similiar but in the summer, not in the winter. water was draining off in to the area when it rained. I park under my deck and debris/dust/bits of leaves fall off the deck. it blocked the two drainage holes under the windeshield: they live right under the wiper blade mount. I hosed it out and blasted some pressurized air into it and it stopped the rain water from draining into the area.

Since I took care of this and haven't had water collecting there since the fall, so I can't say if this is the same problem? but maybe at least worth a try? just blast the area where the wiper blades bolt. It's hard to see there are drainage holes there because everything's black in that area. If you hear water trickling down under there and coming out from under the fender, it's cleared. If not you might need some pressurized air. My passenger side cleared up right away with the hose and water drained away from it nice and clear. The driver side needed a little encouragement. By pressurized air, I mean the keyboard spray cleaner.

It’s from the snow on the windshield melting, running down and re-freezing. I had the same problem on my 2nd gen and last winter on my 3rd gen. This winter I’ve been parking in the garage and haven’t had any issues. It stays warm enough that it doesn’t re-feeeze. The best advice I can offer is to keep the windshield and wiper area as snow and ice free as possible (or get a garage).

Sorry to revive an old forum but what was the word from the dealer? I have this same problem on my 2020. I’m afraid it’s going to eventually chip the paint and bend the bottom corner in

Happened to me too this week. Had to take a long prybar and hammer and carefully chip it away so I could open the door all the way. My driveway slops slightly down so I think snow is melting from the roof/cowl and going down there and freezing. First time it happened to me in two winters.

Since this thread got revived, I want to share something about this issue that should worry people who dont have snow and ice.

The same drains that let water go down there and freeze also lets leaves and pine needles (looking at you Georgia) and other junk fall down into the fender leg. From there is backs up, rots, and turns into a sludge that never really dries out. Every once in a while, you should pull your fender liners there and clear out the junk that gets stuck on the foam block they put there.
