Yeah, that's what I thought, I don't have a problem trimming the excess. It seems icon sent the wrong centering pin, they also sent the wrong install directions as well, go figure. Looks like I'll have to run to the parts store real quick, why is it never easy... thanks guys!

15379889089528595969761773587250.jpg Ok guys, got the correct centering pins, now I'm just curious, is there a way I can keep my overload spring in? I'd like to leave it but it does seem like the icon pack will interfere with the overload and vice versa. The retaining clamps on the overload line up directly with the retaining clamps on the icon pack. I'm not worried about drilling one out and removing it, but which one would be best? I'd prefer to keep the stock retaining clamps on the overloads so that I can bolt my e brake cable back up, any thoughts?

Put a c-clamp on the leaves and compress them together or run it with out the retaining pin. As long as you are not seriously off reading the leaves will stay inside that clip

I won't be doing any serious off roading. But what I'm considering is drilling out the rivet on the icon pack and removing that c clip entirely. What I need to know is if that c clip where the bolt runs through and over the factory leaf springs is critical to have? What does it do? Just keeps the leaf springs from twisting? Thanks again

Yes, that c-clip is to keep them from twisting when flexing the suspension.

I was able to get new center bolts off the shelf at our local Advance Auto Parts. I didn't need them and they are still in the package and appear to be the same diameter and style, just longer.

So just to follow up, what I ended up doing was drilling out the rivet on the front retainer on the icon pack and removing it, so that I could keep my overload springs in. Everything else seemed to go in without a problem. Got my tires back on and got it back on the ground, now I have about 1 inch more lift of the passenger side than I do on the driver? Anybody know why that might be?

    Were the leaves side specific?

That's a good question, they could have been, but icon sent me the completely wrong directions, and there wasn't anything written on them specifying sides

    I don’t believe they’re side specific.

Have you loosened all the bolts and then retorqued with the truck back on its own weight? Not sure how you installed, but maybe if you dropped your leaf packs you’re having some binding issues. :notsure:

All that aside, there’s no guarantee they both lift the same amount. It could be totally fine and still have a height difference due to manufacture differences.

They are not side specific. The lean is the notorious Taco lean from the fuel tank, battery and driver being all on the same side. This is usually addressed by installing an anti-lean top plate spacer on the front driverside strut. Did you change the front suspension at all?

Yeah, it has new bilstien 6112s up front with 700# springs, I knew about the lean, just didn't think it would be that promenant. It's about 1.25 inches higher on the passenger. And yes I did drop the leafs, I'll try loosening the u bolts and torquing them back down with the wieght of the truck on them, thanks

Ubolts won’t cause any height differences or binding, all they do is attach the axle to the leafs.

We took a torch and cut off the clip from the factory overload leaf. Your way works too lol

You can also add a 1/2 inch block to the rear driver side to help correct the lean. Toytec has them on their site.
