follow the above advice... fixed it for you.

    also, please explain...

Are you saying that a 600lb spring won’t ride a little nicer than a 650lb spring? and I recommend a 14” because if you’re replacing the spring anyway... why go with another 13”?

I also explained that a 14” spring alone does not change your “preload” just because it’s not cranked as much.

The lack of logic in this post is outstanding.

@chrslefty please do not filling (listen to) the above advise

So why do they suggest a longer spring if your adding more weight? Ie 14" 600 lbs spring?
Spring Rate Recommendations for 2-2.5” lift:

    13” x 600 lb/in Spring:
    Standard on:

    -Fox Tacoma Coilovers

    -Mods: sliders, skid plates

    -Min installed length: 11-3/8” 1

    14” x 600 lb/in Spring:
    Standard on:

    -Fox 4Runner

    -King Tacoma & 4Runner

-Mods: sliders, skid plates, light bumper, & light winch

    -Min installed length: 11-3/8” 1

Longer spring will give you the extra lift a shorter spring can't if both are without preload.

Therefore to get a specific lift height with a shorter vs longer spring of the same spring rate, the shorter will need more preload and will ride more poorly.

In good sight, this may be why my mind ride better, not the progressive vs regressive valving. The kings have 14" springs.

Next thing- peeps will start saying not to buy OME 887 springs, when you can just use the shorter OME 885 spings, and raise the perch height...

Or why not just buy 883 coils- and max out the 5100 perch height...

ICON rebuild kit 252011 is what was recommended for a softer ride. Foddrill Motorsports in Glendale does nice work. They had mine done is less than a week. SDHQ is a solid shop, but that wait time is absurd.

If you have a second vehicle and willing to go to Tucson, ADS Racing Shocks rebuilt 2 3 tube bypasses and 2 coilovers for me same-day. Took them like 6 hours. You'd have to bring them the parts and valve stack, but their turnaround time is impressive. Just a thought.

I also agree with the icons riding rather stiff though. However it's my own fault. I had them valved for hardcore catching air and sh*t and now between work and school the most offroading I see is suburban roads

So I am experiencing some of the issues with my icons as well. I had to adjust the shit out of the drivers side to compensate for the taco lean and now the front end is stiff as hell. I’m thinking of two simple options. 1) lower both sides until they are equal which means I lost approx 3/4-1” of lift up front or 2) add a 1/4” spaced on the drivers side to compensate for the taco lean and slightly adjust both sides to equal out only losing 1/2-3/4” lift.

I would like to try these options out before going with new springs like the 14” 650lb.
Has anyone used a 1/4” spacer on their icons?

I’ve used the 1/4” spacer & you can’t feel difference.

If you keep icon, get a softer & taller spring like Kings 600lb

Or just switch out your suspension & go to fox or king

To elaborate on this, many folks will swap in king 600# coils whether its icon or fox as the king spring coil generally has a plush, but effective feel.

Was the 1/4” spacer enough to make a difference?

It sounds like they may be adjusted too high.

If they are the extended travel versions the distance from the top of the top hat to center of lower bolt should not exceed 21".

We do not recommend that you install any spacers between the top hat and frame mount.
The spacers let the shock extend too far and can damage the cv axles or other suspension parts.
The spacers also push the shock down so you could be allowing the shock to bottom out, which can cause the seals to fail prematurely, among other things.

    Just a heads up...

There's plenty of threads on here of people using Kings saying they ride harsh.

Take everyone's review with a grain of salt. Some people's "harsh" may be another person's "butter"

With that being said. There ARE some company fanboys out there. So beware of the users that will hype a product to the death simply because they have them. So dont be surprised if you get the kings they also aren't what you expected...
