A few of us run ads with good results, I’m out in Scottsdale and my ride is plush, but with putting bypasses in this weekend it will probably ride more race truckish and stiff. What’s weird that I have noticed is it’s getting harder and harder to find guys running Fox now a days. I don’t know if maybe they are not advertising as hard, but I havnt found anyone running Fox since I have been out here but that’s only about 20 vehicles total. Where my beef with Fox is they are horrendous in the mountain bike scene where all their stuff is proprietary and has such a long back log with returns of sometimes up to a year and frankly I don’t think their stuff feels that great to warrant the wait. Fox is the current supporter of the ford raptor and at one time about a year or so ago they got so behind on their warranty work that they were paying off penalties for neglecting the ford community when they are obligated by contract to execute these warranties within a 6+ month interval. For these reasons alone I don’t have any patience with Fox, but again my frustration with them stems mainly from the mountain bike realm. King is approachable and very good to work with on the phone and they develop their stuff to service anywhere with generic parts to keep folks on the road.

I’m not privy to the differences of the magic that Fox can have, but I question whether it’s worth it depending on what you are looking for out of their product.

This is what happens when we make purchases based on form over function. " oh man that looks so cool with that color scheme" click, click purchase. Luckily Kings are bad ass looking AND functional. KING BLUE ALL DAY :headbang:

@desertjunkie760 How do you like your Fox setup, and have you been able to compare them to Kings?

@Coot83 Definitely appreciate your in depth review kind sir. Taking that into consideration for sure. I have limited experience with the different shock manufactures but what limited experience I have found is, King is the King of customer service, never had a bad experience with them even out on race day at KOH. ADS awesome guys to deal with but Sloooooooow as hell when it comes to getting stuff sent back, and Fox mainly jeep guys run them (From what i've been exposed to).

@Slick Taco Thanks for the post, truck looks sick man. How do you like you King setup? I'm originally from Oregon and actually spend some time in the summers up there as my main work is out of Medford. So i'm familiar with how a Tacoma rides out there!

If it helps to clarify my point a little bit, my buddy used to advertise fox as a suspension option but their lack of customer service and horrible return times he has since ceased advertising their products openly, but will still sell if folks want them. I think the raptor market has them pretty swamped now a days from what my buddy has said. King does make shocks in a variety of colors for a small price which is pretty nice which I’m not sure if Fox does.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not downgrading ADS by any means. I have minimal experience with the product therefore I cannot form a hard opinion. My issue forms with their marketing on the product.

I also don't have experience with the warranty program that Fox offers. I can see them having issues with services and lead times though. It seems the company has grown at an exponential rate in a small amount of time. I also don't do pedal bikes soooo.... this is good information.

What can I say...the Kings ride is plush and supple on road with great control through corners and offroad they are incredible. They eat up the woops and bumps with ease and the faster you go the better they eat it up. But when I really want to work them I hit the local mall and tear it up over the speed humps lol. Needless to say I'm happy with them.

I've both ridden and rebuilt King and Fox. They both have their intricacies. Neither is a bad product. I lean towards Fox due to a variety of reasons but I have also altered my shocks so they are not "off the shelf." Kings tend to ride softer than Fox out of the box. At that point its a driver's preference.

I found this to be a good read but take some of the information with a grain of salt.

Sounds like you may be leaning towards Fox or King at this point. Both are great options. Our Tech Article above does go into details about both which is definitely worth reading. We sell both and will tune both for FREE specific to your application. We do not simply sell off the shelf parts, we tune each coilover based on what the customer wants. Did I mention thats free? ;)

We just installed a King Stage 3A kit last week. I was very impressed on the ride quality. With adjusters, you can really dial in how smooth you want the ride to be. If you have any specific questions, feel free to DM us, email us (sales@accutuneoffroad.com) or call (424) 377-0808

For the guys running king what do you do for the rear?

@AccuTune Offroad thanks for reaching out. I may take you up on that, no offense just depends on the price. I get between 10-30% off from 4wheel parts since I know the sales manager for Transtar. That being said customer service means more to me than savings!

A deal is a deal, can't argue with that! However... you will be getting the standard valving, and not custom tuned. Although we don't offer discounts, our knowledge, support and free tuning equates to a solid 20% off discount. Just let us know, happy to help.

@AccuTune Offroad you have very good points, I will not argue with that. I'm not above spending more money for quality! I am torn between Fox and King at this point. I will send you a message and pick your brain a bit. Perhaps we can come to a conclusion!
