Just a Gee Wiz for anyone who might be looking into this, ICON recently released a new series of Coil overs partly because they were unable to continue to get parts for the older ones. That said, yes ICONs are rebuildable if you can find the parts. I spoke with ICON directly about this and although you wont be able to get the new ones super cheap if you have old ones and they break, They will cut you a discount on buying a brand new set.

They have a brand new coilover and can't re-build the one's that are currently out? Website doesn't say anything? When did this start?

 

The current version is the VS 2.0. The previous models can't be rebuilt anymore due to parts being unavailable. Started summer/ fall 2011. I ordered mine in July from ICONs site and I have the older version.

 

Ohhhh, you're talking rears! Ya, the previous were not re-buildable.....edelbrock made them and they slapped they're name on them! Sorry, thought you were talking about fronts? The new rears are the way to go!

 

Sounded like the fronts too... Possible I misunderstood

 

The company used to be Donahoe Racing untill the owner was busted with kiddy porn and one of the dudes, Dylan Evans took it over and re-named it Icon.....so you may still see some DR coilovers out there but they're bascially still the same! If you have the older fronts they'll still re-build them from what I've heard (unless that's what they were talking about)!

Those were the same shocks that won them the the Baja 1000 in 04 with a stock tacoma expect the shocks and some BFG all terrains!

Those fuckers were valved for these trucks and the dez and they put that to the test! Still the same to this day...love that company!
