According to the hold-music notices I listed to while calling AA today, they have a policy that if an item goes on sale within a year of your purchase for a lower price than what you paid, they refund you the difference. There's probably a decent chance of this suspension going on sale somewhere during the next 12 months (think: black friday and other holidays), so you could take that chance and (potentially) get some money back down the line that would be close-to what this sale offered.

I called a couple days ago and they said the exact word for word same thing to me also. They ended up giving me about 14% off after talking them down. Its not 20% but it's better than nothing.

Hey guys... so I bought an Icon stage 3 suspension kit, subbed out the add-a-leaf for a full Dakar spring set. Since installation I have been battling some vibes. Wanted to get your expert opinions. Love this forum and how much knowledge and help there is!
    1. Small take-off vibe. This isn't a big concern to me. I can deal with it.
    2. Feel vibrations in the steering wheel + in the gas pedal around 65mph.
    - This one is a little more annoying.. here are the steps I've taken to try to remedy
    a. Installed OME driveshaft spacer kit (FK29)... no real help
    b. leveled the truck... there was some serious rake due to the dakars providing much more lift than the icons set at the standard 2.5"... no real help there.
    c. Installed front differential spacer kit. No real help, PLUS I feel like I get a "whirling" rotational sound when hitting around 50mph. Almost like a warped rotor or something but not quite AS drastic. I provided some pictures below of what the boots look like post-spacer install. Does this look ok? I am thinking of taking the spacers back off.
    d. I also ordered some 2 degree shims for my rear axle to try to collect the angle of the yoke/driveshaft. A tech at 4wheel parts told me I was off a little under 3 degrees.

I have to say, I am pretty frustrated with the overall situation. Thoughts on the steps I have taken? Anyone else run into these issues with a similar setup? I thought that buying from a reputable company and spending a good amount that I would avoid some of these "engineering issues." @icon_rep any thoughts? have you guys had customers run into similar problems?

I have a stage 3 kit I'm going to try to install myself. I know I need to get an alignment afterword. If I'm not able to get to an alignment shop for I while, will it be overly detrimental to my tires, or anything else for that matter, if I am unable to get an alignment for a hundred miles or so? The major concern is uneven tire wear, correct? The alignment mostly corrects camber changes, not toe in/out issues, right?

    Thanks for the help.

you will need an alignment pretty soon. i would say do it right after the lift. it doesnt take too long and its not too expensive. anytime you mess with the suspension it will throw off the alignment. let me know if you need help with your lift, ill give you a hand

I think your on the right track with your shims, but do post some pics of your drive shaft to get a baseline of where your at. The diff drop I would not recommend, as few do, it looks as if your angles are more extreme up front due to that, cv joints. You might want to consider removing that. Did you install a sway bar relo bracket?

I was lucky enough to get in on it but had to get a sales guy on the chat line and push for the discount, then it was downhill. No option for the 700lb coil but at that discount I guess I can do it later...

Yeah, I tried getting both AutoAnything and Icon to change my order to sub in a 700lb spring and no dice. Will have to go with the 650lb and see how it is. Icon says the 700lb coils are $120/piece, so that $240 + shipping + labour if it needs to be done down the line.

Only way to get the 700lb spring (for me, at least) is to forego the 20% discount.

OME, sliders, dents, hail damage, soiled armrest. Lightbulbs.

I would also be recommend getting a "road force" balance of your tires to rule out any wheel balance of out of round tire issues.
