    Hi There,

I am installing the ICON mini leaf pack and i'm running into an issue. On the passenger side when I jack up the rear the bolt that hold the leaf together becomes crooked, it starts off straight and as I raise the rear it starts to become crooked. I did the driver side with no issue and is perfectly straight, somehow on the passenger side it is giving me trouble. I've tried adjusting the rear as I jack it up but at some point I can not adjust it anymore. I take it is not ok to have it a bit crooked. Or is my rear is not straight anymore from something I did? I've attach some pics for reference. I've taken it off and put it back on a few times and everytime it is the same thing (degree of angle changes everytime I do it but it is never straight)

    Starts off straight

As I jack up the rear it goes crooked and I can not adjust it any more. I've tried pulling on the wheel to move it forward as i jack up the rear which straightens the bolt but it only works midway up, then I can't move it any more.

I've also noticed on this leaf pack that one of the guide bracket is not straight, not sure if this is an issues or is the cause of what I am experiencing.

Hope someone can give me some tips or answers.

    Thanks,
    Alvin

Tighten the center pin bolt before jacking the axle back up. The axle tends to shift when unbolted from the pack and that's what's causing that shift.

Thanks, good to know. Is there a chance of striping the thread under all that pressure?

Yes. You should use a couple of c-clamps to put the pack together before tightening that bolt.

Ideally one C clamp on each side of the bolt.

already been mentioned but C-clamps and tighten the pack before hand. but it looks like ya have the TSB 3+1 leaf pack and removed the overload, could ya post back your thoughts on the ride once ya get it back together?

Yes, overload spring was removed per the instructions. I'll let you know how it rides once I get it back together. Only caveat is that I am also replacing the rears w King shocks and adding an air ride spring helpers too.

    Supercharged, Magnaflow, Volant,
Thanks everyone the combination of C clamps, threaded center pin and U-bolt flip kit did the trick.

Here are the steps I did to get it on correctly.

    1. Use C-clamps to compress leafs. Unfortunately the C-clamps were only able to compress the leafs down so much which mostly helped me get the bolt to be straight.
    2. I then tightened the center pin down as much as I could being careful not to strip the threads.
    3. Next I used the U-bolt flip kit to compress the leafs all the way down.
    4. Then I placed back on the C-clamps to hold the leafs in place.
    5. Next remove the flip kit and retighten the center pin.
    6. Finally install U-bolt flip kit back.

If you are using the factory U-bolt kit that could save you a couple of steps.

Everything is in and aligned. Ride is a little stiffer than stock but not to bouncy. Feels firm, no more bottoming out when hitting dips/bumps at higher speeds.
