I agree the concept of tapered leafs is pretty much common sense and from an engineering perspective of a progressive leaf pack

But have you ever not followed directions and then paid for it later? That was the main reason I brought it up. It’s relatively easy to flip the misplaced leaf while it’s off the truck <10mins

Not so much after it on the truck.
Time is $, or even more precious when it can be spent with family

Had crazy loud squeak for the last 3 1/2 months. Sounded like some GTA hookup rolling through parking lots. Tried pressure washing, lubing the joints and theoretical problems spots with no luck.

Solved it by spraying penetrant oil all over them LOL

Install instructions 2019 Rev.D definitely direct you to put the extra leaf backwards. I built one per the instructions and one per common sense before I found this thread and came to the same conclusion as you guys. See pic below for both side by side. Now to flip the wrong one around.

    Thanks for the confirmation!

When I asked the guy at Icon what would happen if you left it like that, all he said was,

The ride would be slightly stiffer and carrying a load could stress the leaf in the wrong way.

Not sure if that matters, but glad it helped you

I have my RXT option 3 installed for 2+ years now and developed a squeak/creak recently. Part of it is my setup since I did not installed the 1/32" thin brass spacers in between the blades. I found them to be very thin, press cut with burs on the edges and center hole. I tried to level them up with the hammer and vise but still garbage and threw them away. Also the white plastic pads are cheap plastic. I have ordered custom made brass spacers 1/16" thick and ordered better plastic pads. Looking at the week before Christmas to drop the RXT and rebuild them. As it is now. No spacers between the leaves and the shim is 3deg.

i developed the squeak after first longer offroad trip...insanely annoying
tried boeshield...only quiet for a minute
next... jacked truck up by frame to unload springs, gave them 2 rounds of fluid film sprayed with the straw between each leaf...silent
...until the next offroad trip?...not a huge concern as i accept modified trucks squeak & groan, and the ride is great

I just did a slathering of grease between each pad on the leafs myself. We'll see if that lasts any longer

Sprayed penetrating oil all over mine...took less than a minute to do and solved the squeak within a mile or so.

I ordered the icon rxt leaf pack and was missing the spare galvanized liner and plastic pads for when I configure it to option 3. Does anyone know where I can order the liners?

From what I read about Icon's cusomter service, I figured it would be easier to buy it somewhere.

Call Icon and let them know parts were missing upon arrival.

I purchased some Energy Suspension bushings, not knowing the leaf pack already had the integrated bushings welded into them.

Should I just keep them as is and sell the Energy bushings?

    or

Should I melt out the stock ones and install the Energy Suspension bushings?

Are the stock Icon bushings fine? Experienced advice with them?

    These are the bushings purchased:

The installed bushings should be zero maintenance. Also, you'll have to measure to know that the eye is right diameter (40mm/1.57") and and the leaf material is correct width (60mm/2.375") for the poly bushings

If the measurements work out, it would be interesting to see if the aftermarket bushings keep it from squeaking.

At the beginning of this thread, I was sold. The end of the thread makes me question these vs Dakar’s.
