    Thanks for the welcome, all! My wife and I are really excited for a change of environment and ready to get to know Boise. Scrambling to find an apartment for now, but looks like there are many choices and we have it narrowed down. Gonna do the apartment living thing for a year since I have to find a place and sign a lease sight-unseen. Then the house hunt will begin once we get acclimated.

    Excited for some different off-roading experiences as well! Do you guys get together for adventures and beer/food from time to time?

    People with built up trucks go out for adventures? Get together a involving food AND beer? No people around here don't do that. They pack their shit and go to Utah or Colorado because the mountains around here are too big for them. Get together a are usually more beer than food (including the off road adventures). Don't miss the slight hint of sarcasm that the internet conveys so well...

    There are a number of off road groups, it is very jeep heavy though. But a lot of them are very nice and welcoming.

    The area has some pretty good wheeling once you find it. There are a number of rock crawling trails out in the desert, some for almost stock rigs and a number that are a challenge for sure and can destroy your rig haha.

    Then you head up in the mountains and there are trails and logging roads of various passabity up there that lead to some cool places.

    Ha! i appreciate the sarcasm! There is a good group of guys here, but the group has gotten smaller and smaller and trips have been infrequent for various reasons. There are a ton of street queen Tacos here as well that have never seen anything but pavement.

    No kidding, big struggles with fuel pressure!

    Yea surge(under load) or flutter(turbo hickuping before blowoff opens common with stiff bov springs trying to run high boost) is hard on the turbo's, the prior being the one that kills motors and turbos quickly. Flutter before blowoff is hard on the fins but i'm guessing they dont care much about that stress for a pikes car since its a slow kind of turbo death then one day bam a fin will explode...

    lets see this weekend i have gone from broke to more broke. went to help the brother in law move and i guess i know have a camper payment. the truck is still not repaired since moab. seeing as how i found the installed rear gears shot to shit i have to run unmatched ratios so no 4wd. and konsta is doing a very expensive, time taking SAS. i would have a hard time going without my toolbox/spotter.

    Nice video! I wonder what the arm was on? or did i miss it? I have an itch to build an older car like a bmw2002 or similar totally stripped and simple with all cheap find solid parts. Would be so much fun. I miss driving a small tight and light car, plus i need a dd... haha

    Haha, not sure about a billion more knowledges... I'm not the one doing the nitty gritty tuning, just simple fixes and romping it!

    Nothing like jumping a 28 ton vehicle! Haha. We were pulling security for our gunnery sgt while he scouts out ahead to find the next emplacement area. Well he was hauling ass down the road and we weren't allowed to take the road so we were playing keep up blazing out through the desert. I told my driver to not let up on the throttle unless he saw some big rocks. We found a good ditch and I just held on to my MK19 for dear life and relaxed my knees a little so they weren't locked. It was fun but rough at the same time haha. We hit a whoop section shortly after that but it just sucked. They were huge spaced out whoops and track vehicles don't go well over whoops. I was getting thrown all over in my gunners hatch. It's still loads of fun to baja these things though. Convoying them is fucking miserable though. There were a few times I flew up about a foot but luckily my stand is pretty big so both feet land back on it.
