Did you get your water leaking issues sorted? Looks like a nice relaxing time.

I believe I fixed that water leak. This trip we found a couple areas to improve some gaps letting water and dust in. I'm sure I'll always find something that needs attention.

    Relaxing indeed.

Hey all, don't post on TW much but I installed some shiny new front suspension on the truck last weekend.

Planning to do a bit of maintenance I've been neglecting this weekend. Has anyone got experience/tips on replacing cv axles. My boots are all shot and wouldn't mind getting some new ones and keeping the old as spares

When popping in the new axle, make sure the opening on the c-clip in the splines is facing down.

FYI I put extra grease in the boot. I feel it acts like a reserve if needed and also displaces dirt and water.
    Hope this helps

    Hello ID neighborinos,
I'll be visiting the Ketchem/Sun Valley area July 5-10 for a family vacation/MTB trip from SLC, UT. Don't worry, I won't tell others how nice ID is by comparison. Your secret is safe.

Anyway, based on the number of folks I get driving down to me in SLC from various areas of Southern ID (Boise, Twin Falls, Pocatello, Idaho Falls, etc...) for tunes I figured I'd post here and let folks know I'll be up there and possibly save some drive time and gas $ for anyone interested in a tune. I am currently able to tune 2016-2022 Tacoma's on the VF Tuner platform, and I use HP Tuners for 2005-2015 Tacoma, 2015-2019 4Runner, and 2007-2021 5.7L Tundra. Some FJ support available with HP Tuner as well, I know I can do 2007-08. Supercharger/FI tuning available for all HP Tuner platforms, 3GT VF Tuner Supercharger tunes in development. I work primarily with Overland Tailor Tunes, but others are available upon request., although in back to back testing everyone has picked OTT.

Tune Info here: Overland Torque Tune (OTT) by Overland Tailor | Tacoma World

If you're interested, shoot me a PM or an email at the address below. You can see examples of vehicles I've tuned on IG @JustSoLLC https://www.instagram.com/justsollc and Facebook Not interested? No problem, more time for biking... Sorry if spammy.
    Thanks,

Again, checking in. Some unique tuning capabilities will be coming through Ketchum/Sun Valley area from 7/5 - 7/10. These are not just flash and go tunes, these are custom calibrations for your vehicle, data logged and validated for each individual truck. I am not just flash and go 3rd Gen Tacoma Tunes, I support many different Toyota vehicles. I have the ability to provide custom calibrations for many Toyota offroad platforms. PM me if you're interested in scheduling an appointment while I'm in the area.

My process is documented well here:

Les swab, dick York I think are the only shops that have alignment lifts there, otherwise I’d look into doing it yourself. I know there’s a bunch of guys that have their own alignment plates.

Any of those shops touch SPCs? They need to loosen the UBJ and move it a touch then reset everything accordingly

I don’t think so, when I worked at dick York’s I knew how to adjust the SPC uppers but I’m not sure if they have anyone familiar with it. If your alignment isn’t terrible I’d bring it over here to Boise and have a shop over here do it. At worst I’d call around.

A flat parking spot, digital level and a straight piece of steel the diameter of your wheel is all you need to set camber.

Just set the SPC yourself. Then take it to the shop and they can adjust the LCA to hit the numbers you want. The SPC will influence how they adjust the LCA but it'll be SOP for adjusting the alignment and should get you the numbers you want.

It won't effect castor but it will effect toe. To measure toe you can measure from the front of the tires and compare it to across the rear of the tires. This will get you close enough to drive somewhere.
