I have built my fair share of computers and the parts inside a mac are no different than the parts inside a pc, it just comes down to which parts they choose. and like I said they are expensive. I pulled up the specs a couple years ago of a mac desktop that was in the $2000 range and I could have bought those exact components and built it myself for half that price easy. I could find pre-made Hp's and dell's with equivalent or faster components for much less than apple was asking. Apple just makes the case and OS and puts them together.

In all my years of playing with computers I have never experienced or even seen a hdd failure. My old PC kicked it when the motherboard went out (I may have pushed it too hard;)) and my gf laptop died after about 3 years of either cpu or motherboard failure (hard to tell). Both were HP's. Her new laptop is also an HP and is going on year 3. My laptop is an Asus and is going on year 2. My current desktop is custom built and is going on year 3 as well.

My mom has gone through a few PC's but she buys cheap ass E-Machines at walmart for like $100, and I have got a couple of them running again by just reinstalling windows.

you PC guys are just jelly that apple shit works all the time. my MBP is 2 years old and I can still get 8-9 hours out of a charge. I don't have to worry about the blue screen of death. And all my other apple devices sync automatically.

I've had both android an the iPhone. I don't live in an area with 4g coverage so the iPhone was a logical choice for me.

Spokane doesn't have 4G? Damn... Neither does Id, but I hear Verizon is supposed to have 4G in Id this summer. I sure hope so. 3G is a bit sluggish.

macs run faster due to how the OS i built. It doesn't take as much of the computer physical resources thats why they tend to last longer. Windows takes more resources. Thats why you see more PCs that are WAY more powerful in terms of processing power then Macs. Cause the PCs need it. more power CPUs, GPUs, and HDs require more power so more stress in on the Batteries.

    Desktops..not true.

I am running a prototype QX9750 Quad core..its a Core2 Duo series..not an I5 or I7..so like 3-4 generations old..and i have dual GTX460 GPUs..2 gen old. Old MOBO, And newish HDs. And Newish RAM. I can STILL rip apart new games in terms of FPS.

Granted its all OCed but still..kicking strong..

now my Mac has dual Quad cores and 12 Gb of RAM. Which works great for me as i have a Native based DAW so it pulls tons of CPU stress to get all my plugins to work with no problem. But i haven't had an issue thus far with a 40-60 track song and plugins on almost every track.

    I like them both.

I like PCs for their power and customizablaitly as well as expandability. You can tear about a PC and slap in new parts super easy.

Macs..don't like you messing with their stuff. But the OS is a bit more stable in general which almost makes up for it. If they were a bit more user friendly in general..id like them more.

Either way tho..they are just two products doing the same thing and both do it pretty well.

Its not quite as bad as comparing Nvidia to ATI or Intel to AMD.

Dual 2.8Ghz Xeons. They handle everything pretty well.

Yea i was gonna build a bad ass water cool rig too at some point. I actually still have some of my water cooling stuff i was gonna use on my current setup. My blocks didn't fit the 460s tho. To bad..im sure i coulda run them at 1Ghz each lol have em at 822 on air now. They have really nice coolers tho. And I have a Noctua Dh14 i think for cpu. its freaking HUGE lol works amazing tho. 4.2Ghz on Air easy. Wish i had one of the new Sandybridge I7s tho. The 2600k. Those lil bastards OC like crazy haha

but now i just buy audio gear and truck toys :p

Wait which asus lol? I have one and when I switch it into 4wd (yes, my laptop has gears. 4wd is called "high performance") I'm lucky to get an hour and a half out of the battery just doing normal functions at school. I'm sure if I tried to play a game without a power source I wouldn't make it over 45 min. But its a fairly powerful laptop too.

G73JH. Mine has a button called Turbo boost but it is pointless. I can overclock it better.
