hey guys. Well its been a dream of mine to build my own custom sand rail.

But i am pretty new to building a complete rail.

I do alot of mechanical stuff, i work on my own truck and have done engine swaps before.

But i need some ideas from everybody, as to what to use ( engine, axles, steering components.)

I may be able to get a frame, or buy one or build one. Just piecing the parts together is going to be what gets me. my buddy and i plan on doing this, but need some ideas on what parts to use. I know that there are so many options to use.

And also not sure if i should just go buy a older car or truck and use the engine, axles, and everything.

if anyone has any suggestions, i would appriciate it!! Thanks

Small block chevy V8 and 350 trans would be a cheap and raliable power train they are a dime a dozen and run forever. Plus they are cheap to get performance parts for.

My dad has a 427 small block ZO6 vette engine i built for him that he is selling. If i can find the dyno sheets, i'll post them. Its been awhile, but it made 780 at the crank.

sweet. i think its only gonna be a 1 or two seater. I didnt know if i wanted to go as big as a v8, but that would put down some power haha. That hayabusa engine would be sick.
