I kept my 01 taco for now, but I bought an 07 Sierra Denali last week. I wanted to go new, but didn't want to pay $1000 a month since I didn't have a trade. I got it real cheap so I will drive it for a while until I want to go diesel.

It sucks that the Frontier seems inferior to the Tacoma in quality and performance. I prefer its size and think it looks better.

Traded the 2015 TRD Pro 6spd Supercharged on a PowerWagon and could not be happier. My 2011 Tacoma with the TX Baja package (Added by me) is still treating me great. My 1985 Toyota never skips a beat.
Its very close. If you like it go for it! I like them but the interior sucks. Nissan frontier is good its the Titan thats a POS but hopefully the new titan fixes that.

I know a guy with a hardbody that bought it new and still drives it. Over 750k the last time I talked to him, one engine rebuild and 3 trans rebuilds.

The Nissan 8 inch diff is rumored to be as good as a toyotas. I don't have much experience with it though

General Motors is launching two recalls involving seats or seat belts, including one of its largest of the year.

The big one is the recall of nearly 470,000 Chevrolet Malibu from the 2011 and 2012 model years. In those, GM says the steel cables linked to the front-seat seat belts can weaken, the Associated Press reports.

In the second, GM is recalling about 53,000 2015 Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon midsize pickup trucks. In those, the seat frame hooks may not have been properly installed when the car was made.

In both recalls, GM says it is not aware of any crashes. It did report one minor injury on the seat-belt issue and 36 warranty claims.

While looking for a new to me truck I was also leaning strongly towards the 2010+ Chevy Silverado/GMC Sierra. Was looking mainly at LTZ/SLT (highest trim level) and lower trim levels that had the optional full center console. All LTZ/SLT and many 2010+ trucks are equipped with a 6spd auto. This yields a rated 16city/21hwy, which is what drove my consideration for them, and the fact that they can tow & haul nearly double what a mid-size truck can. If you look carefully and often enough you can find a good example with under 60k for around $25k.

My Tacoma popped up for sale at an almost unbelievable price during a time when the Chevy/GMC prices were climbing, so I jumped on it. Very happy with the Toyota so far, averaged 19.8mpg on my last tank in mixed driving.

Actually, I should have said, if I wasn't planning on buying a new Tacoma I'd be buying a 4runner.

My F150 should be here next weekend. Can't wait! In the last 3-4 weeks the Tacoma's PS pump has been flaky. Sometimes steering is easy, 2 fingers on the wheel, other times, it almost takes 2 hands and doesn't return to center fast enough going around corners. The recent 80+ degree weather also reminded me the AC needs servicing. I've done the refill kits a couple of times, and last summer it didn't do shit. I dealt with it, and just rolled the windows down. It's just one more thing I'd have to fix to keep it long term, and something I'd forgotten about when deciding to trade it. So one more vote for a new truck, and one less thing for me to deal with soon!

Nothing yet. Old truck had the works.
Other than tacoma something diesel. Not a dodge cause even though the cummins is a great motor everything else seems to slip by. Friends have them and the frame rusts and paint is peeling and just in general some very annoying flaws.

Between ford and chevy id go with the duramax with the allison but the 6.7 in the ford is a good engine as well.
I saw a duramax 3500 with 1.2 million miles original engine and trans. Thats why id go duramax.

That is why I love the duramax also and they just put out great power.

Personally I want a 6.7 cummins with a merc 6spd in a tundra crewmax cab with 6 foot bed. 4x4. Nothing crazy.. near stock minus emissions bullshit and plus mild exhaust etc.

But thats not gonna happen. Tacoma with the 4.0 it is then.. lol

Last truck was a Nissan, great truck. The Tacoma save for the rear springs has been a great truck so far. Can't really go wrong either way. We're kinda spoiled for choice at the moment, lotta good trucks out there.

ETA: oh yeah, what would I get if I was getting rid of my Taco (and money was not an object)? A Suburban. Always wanted one, couldn't possibly explain why. I couldn't fit it in my garage. But that would be cool.

I can see that. In the first Canyon I tested, the seat jumped the track just trying to slide it back. Not a good sign.
