driven plenty of them. Love them.
So many hate on the germans as unreliable, if you maintain them properly they'll last just as long as anything else.
Besides buy one thats 2 years old and you can get it for 35-40K

not sure why you say lol.

I'm sure you'll hear "but they don't hold their value like a Taco!" And blah blah blah aluminum blah blah blah. If you keep your truck for 5+ years who gives a shit. It serves it's purpose and does it reliably. With more comfort and cool shit inside while doing it.

My wife has a 2013 mk6 gti with 0 problems. Just oil changes. When you sit inside that car the build quality is always surprising.

Quick edit, we are trading it in for an explorer for her. Those things are nice as hell for the price. More room for our little one as well

I had a beamer. Learned my lesson...lease don't buy. Every audi and beamer I've known will eat up your wallet to keep on the road once out of warranty.

I currently have a 06 jetta TDI. I kept up with the service that should be done and I've had no real problems. Other than a turbo failure which was due to me running 19psi on a factory turbo that from factory only runs 9. It was a lot of abuse, it failed I replaced it no problems since. Just did my cams and second timing belt. Yet again I hear a lot of people with 06s complain about cam failure, each time i ask how much milage did they have they said 280 000km+ thing is scheduled cam is at 260K and timing belt is at 240. did them all together cost me $2500 vs others who have failed having it take out their valves etc and it turning into a $4000+ repair. I've had a few different VWs never had any problems. Just take care of them properly.

I think the main problem is people buy german and bring it to your average joe mechanic who is used to working on domestics and some easy japanese makes. The germans are just a pain to work on because everything is tightly fit into each other. Plus special tools are supposed to be used for certain jobs. Out of all the germans my mechanic recommends audi and vw, and his shop only works on the germans.

LOL beamer yes. holy fuck. I'd never buy a BMW.
Audi isn't bad if you take care of them properly. I know a few people with the S4 that are well out of warranty and no problems. The only problem with buying used is if the previous owner or leaser was an idiot and abused it. But if you know the previous its not a problem.

Only other midsize truck available with a manual transmission and the 4x4 V6 combo is the Nissan Frontier, so that would be my only other choice... A boring... boring other choice...

Haha 4dr, DSG not black, gray or silver. Only 20k on it as she doesn't like driving it with baby gear. Never seen snow as we are as south as it gets

Bummer. I need to get some speed back into my life.

The MK6 was my fav gen of the golf. Had/have a '06 Mk 5 GTI DSG,'12 Mk6 TDI 6 speed (still have but parked, my FAV) , AND a '16 Mk7 GTI DSG which is what I traded for the taco. All 3 drs and no more DSGs for me. $400 trans fluid change every 40,000 mi.

    Thanks Tho

Yup that part does suck but a tune on a DSG and it rips. I miss my MS3 fully bolted and tuned on e85 and it was nasty from a roll but alas children have made me leave these days behind for now. One day I'll build a new coyote though.

Different Tacoma or maybe a Tundra. But don't see a need in the future to tow more than 5,000 lbs so another Tacoma.

Was looking into ram 1500s. Wish they weren't so ugly. I love the pentastar. I was getting 25 mpg hwy when I used it for my work truck. Crew cab 4wd.

After some shitty encounters with absolute cock suckers of dealerships.(Don't ever go to dave Smith they treat you Fucking stupid. They act arrogant cause they got so many customers anyways.) I looked in other directions.

Almost pulled the trigger on an absolutely beautiful sierra for 38k, 17k off. Completely loaded. My payments would be borderline month to month.

Then after previously dismissing mid size rigs I looked into the tacoma again and dealer told me how good their leases are. Went back did some research and ya, they're good. Few if any vehicles compare or are worth leasing. So I went back informed, made a good deal and got my truck.

I don't know what it is about the drivers of these new F150s, but I'm beginning to get self conscious from how much they check out my tuck (hopefully it's my truck). From creeping in parking lots to literally backing up at intersections and hanging their faces out the window to look at the Taco, it's always an F150 driver. I'm happy to talk shop, but stop drooling on my fresh wax!

If I didn't need the cargo space I would have picked up a Wrangler 4 door. I have a 99 TJ and love it but I need cargo space for camping and carrying stuff.

Still needing a truck, if the Tacoma didn't work out I also looked at a Pentastar Ram and liked it.

The taco barely won over this, I strongly think it was the salesperson that made it, I hate saying that being one myself
