Gen I Tundra fapper checking in. Best truck by far I've owned. Not too big, smooth as silk, quiet cabin, reliable, 10.5 inches stock ground clearance, 4.7l v8.

Just make sure your bank account is bulging before you buy one. You'll need the bulging bank account to afford keeping it on the road.

They suck fuel like crazy, but power is thirsty, and I don't care. Aside from that, they're not bad at all. I'd go 2013 or up.

It's time for a new truck, and I don't understand the new GM vehicles at all. The new 1500 looks, feels, and drives like a Cadillac, and carries the same price tag. I had a Toyota (1991 Hillux V6 4x4) before moving to Chevy and I loved it. When I got rid of that one, I was towing a boat a lot so I moved to the Chevrolet.

I was leaning towards a Rubicon, but when I saw the Toyota TRD Offroad in double cab/ quicksand/ with a manual transmission for $32K I was all in.

Tundra, but if you need to pull a yacht, then a F-350 with the power stroke!!! The I-Force engine is in how many vehicles right now? Too many to list. What the Land Cruiser has the 5.7 I-Force. Enough said right there. I have never heard of a Land Cruiser leaving anyone stranded!!! My next vehicle will be the Land Cruiser for sure!!

A friend mine has owned two. First one started giving him issues around 60k miles and be kept sinking money in it, by the time it hit 95k miles he had spent nearly $10k at the stealership on a wide range of repairs.

He thought maybe he just had a bad experience/lemon and still loved the look of them and ended up buying a new one in 2014. Here we are two years later and he recently had to have the transmission replaced while still under warranty. He just traded it in on a fully loaded F150 king ranch.

Johnny919, you are correct, meant to say "automatic". A manual in a DCLB would have been a nice option.

LOL, people throwing out vehicles $15-30,000 more than the Tacoma. I kept my earlier choices close to the Tacoma price... but no shit I'd take a Raptor or Land Rover.

I love the Gen1 tundra, perfect sized truck.

That being said I wanted something newer so I got a Titan Pro4x.

I got it for the same price that Toyota wanted for an access cab 4cyl Tacoma SR5.

    I ain't scared, and 510HP, FTMFW.

The 110HP that the 3.5 produces just isn't acceptable. I test drove two of them this Friday. I was totally convinced that I mistakenly picked a four cylinder, but, nope.

You're assuming price was an issue. For many it may be but for some of us including myself it really wasn't. Wanted the practicality and offroad capability of the smaller sized truck with utility of a truck (sans towing)

Seems like I have what is called a 'Friday Truck'. I have these nagging issues I never had with my Tundra, but my '10 Tundra DC 4.6 couldn't touch this truck in any other aspect.

The Raptor one hell of a truck, and I actually get to use it as it was intended to.
It's been off road 25-30% of its life.
But it could have definitely been built with much tighter QC.

The Titan is a great deal, there is still new '15s left on the lot near my house. If I wanted a half ton theres no doubt I would have picked up a king cab Pro4x.

I'd probably get a Ford ecoboost F150 or Ranger when they come back to the US. Or maybe the Jeep truck when it comes out. Hell I'd even entertain the thought of a Frontier or Ridgeline before buying a turd gen, a dodge, or a GM truck

I agree. I don't care how much love some people have for GM. They have proven to be dishonest, responsible for killing drivers, Hiding safety issues.

When I had a Vette , My GM dealer said the ignition issue was a result of people carrying to much crap on their key chains.....I asked him if GM is the only automaker where people do that........(crickets) Screw GM. Should have let them fail. There I said it....

Toyota Service around here is like Lexus. Up to date multi lane service area. Free refreshments and food. GM dealers still operating out of 50+ year old buildings, Honda is the same. Ford not so bad. They sit on a lot of land. My fords in the past gave me headaches with pre ignition. I had three of the 6 CYL . All suffered from pre ignition out in Las vegas were I lived for 15 years, Ford dealer said "they all do that" When I hear that I cringe.
