I'm wondering the same thing. I'm pretty sure the clear ring (key lamp) and the black bezel are all that's required.

There are several key rings and bezels though so it will take some checking to find the right one.

from this page, it looks like 81870-35020 and 81870-35050 to choose from for key ring..
Toyomonkey59 says 81870-35050 didnt work for 03 truck.
im looking for part # confirmation for '01

    i found a fitment guide. #
    81870-35020 fits my 01
    55408-35010 is matching bezel
dealer confirmed the keylight part number

Cool. Thanks. Hopefully it is the same for 2003 (81870-35020 and 55408-35010).

It looks like the "bezel" is a small piece of dash panel that includes the black ring like this. I have the larger dash panel that includes the clock but it shouldn't matter since I can just pull the black ring.

I went to the dealer. He found part numbers for my year.. Key lamp, bezel the works...
His bezel part number is 550408-04064.. This new bezel number is the larger that includes the clock cutout.. Seems like this gives me something concrete to go on..
    So key lamp is 81870-35020
    Bezel is 550408-04064

Just curious, so "for your year" meaning the same year 4-runner? Or did he mean it was an actual Tacoma part? Maybe some of the Tacomas had it as an option.

Yeah I checked 2004 Tacoma & 4Runner, 2000 4Runner & 2002 4Runner and couldn't find the key lamp. I got a HVAC Unit out of an 02 4Runner that fit perfectly in my 04 Tacoma. But that is a different story with this lighted key ring mod for my 04 Tacoma. I'd love to know the part# that would fit in my truck. I know some 4Runners are compatible with Tacomas depending on the part

Well I'm gonna order the part numbers @amkaos mentioned from Camelback.com. I might not install for a couple of months tho if you want to wait for me to test it out. I'm pretty sure it will fit it just wasn't a factory option so it is not listed.

    Key lamp is 81870-35020
    Bezel is 550408-04064

I have a clock so I'm thinking I don't need the bezel. Just the key lamp. I couldn't find it on toyotapartsdeal.com

You don't need the bezel but you need the black ring that comes with it. The original one is too small

Thanks. I looked it up and is this for just the key ring light? Or the small black plastic ring also? I see that key ring light was an option for my 04 Tacoma although mine doesn't have it obviously. My truck must've been specially ordered since it has leather but no sunroof. It is color matched from the factory. Bumpers, grill surround and fender flares. Thanks for the part #'s
