It did, I thought the larger led lights that illuminate when the switches are on would dim too, alas only the small leds do.

Yeah I agree. That's why Amber and orange is best and red light is the least dim. You could out a resistor inline to dim the light some permanently.

My ARB switches (look just like those) are bright as fuck and blue. They are the only lights that aren't amber color in the cab. However, I don't mind because the are mounted using the stock clock face so they in the perfect position as the steering wheel blocks all the light.

The military did a bunch of studies and supposedly green is easiest on night vision. Maybe someday if I’m bored I’ll start hunting down green switches.

My boss was a 25 year military pilot and he swears by the study. I personally can’t tell a difference, both are pretty easy on the eyes at night in the cockpit. I’ve always thought red was the best too, it is definitely what all German carmakers use for backlighting.

Red or green works to prevent loss of night vision. We make a flashlight for pilots to use to read charts when flying at night. It does full power white and reduced power green and red.

I’m considering changing my 98 brake booster and mc to an 01-04 since I’m still in the process of swapping out my rear axle and my lines are all drained at this point. So from your process it looked like I might run into issues with the length of the push rod on the booster and the pedal connection but possibly only the rod length. Any ideas on other potential problems - I’ve got a non-abs truck and may delete the lpv since everything is empty atm. Thoughts? I only have stock brakes up front but don’t see why I wouldn’t want to upgrade to tundra brakes eventually and probably will be getting disks in the back on my new axle.

Go for it. You'll have to tweak it a bit to get stuff working. You'll for sure need to make sure the booster comes with the aluminum spacer on the back or it won't fit.

You'll probably just have to drill a new hole for the booster rod. I looked at swapping it but was way to much work to be worth the effort.
