My 4R was just way too slow. Couldn’t do it any longer
I do miss it for the snow, but that’s it

Back then? 2019 Tesla Model 3 LR. I was commuting around 60+ miles to work daily and was not a fan of the fuel prices nor the slowness of it

I still laugh when I think of the people who asked for the 4R to get the new 3.5L Taco engine when it first came out because the 4.0 was "dangerously slow".

There's just, a little bit too much truth in that statement. It's not completely true, but there is some truth in it.....

I dropped an air freshener on the dash in the tundra and left it there during a hot day. It distorted the screen that showed outside air temp.

I did a few hundred miles in 4x4 with our 2011 T4R during a cross country trip during a snow storm... Fresh powder and nobody else on the highway through NC and VA. That was a fun trip. The 4runner is impressive in the snow. It did great in soft sand at OBX too.

Having owned a second gen Tacoma with the sister 4.0 engine, a third gen with the 3.5, and now the 4.0 in the 4Runner, I can confidently say I much more enjoy driving the 4Runner than I did my Tacoma. My Tacoma had absolutely nothing down low. Once it got high enough in the RPMs it took off but when I stomped it from a dead stop at a stoplight I couldn't even outpace a base model economy car at first.

It definitely is impressive! The tires that are on it currently are some basic bitch highway tires made by Uniroyal and it still does pretty decent.

There's no denying the 3rd gen is a slug until 3500.

At least it didn’t shift 8 times getting there. Maybe I’ll never totally get used to fly by wire throttle either.

    Should've gotten a manual :boink:

But you have fly by wire throttle....
