Oh there will be some mods all right
The Carfax for my 4Runner shows that they had regular maintenance done at the dealership, which, is kind of scary and cool at the same time. Cool because having a record of maintenance is nice. Scary because dealerships have proven time and time again that they can really screw some stuff up. Also scary because they were doing Toyota's regular maintenance plan which is an oil change every 10,000 miles which I think is just way too long for oil change intervals (if you only drive highway and or you are running a boutique oil like amsoil signature series that is different but most people actually fall under severe service category and don't even know it)

Listen here pal, I didn't see an option on your detailing website for having you fly out to my vehicle and make the paint perfect.

    It's a 4runner with less than 120k. It'll be fine.

I have faith :D just figured it's a lazy snowy Sunday so I had to conjure up some sort of conversation in here :) I know going forward though for sure I'm doing 5,000 mile oil changes. I have an open mind and when presented with compelling arguments I am almost always willing to see other point of views and change my mind, but 5,000 mile oil changes is one of the things I just won't budge on. Between all the idling, stop and go, short trips, off-roading, and everything else I do there is no way I'm going more than 5,000.

I did 10K on my previous 4Runner. But, Mobil 1, and mostly highway use. Ran like a champ at 257K. Probably still running, wherever it is.

This one gets 5K changes, though, as recommended by the manual.

    Just broken in.

You should be able to access those records via your Toyota Owners account. When I bought my used 2020 Tacoma it provided more details than the Carfax report.

I plan to go 5k mile oil changes as well. Something just doesn't sit right with 10k.

It's funny you mention the Toyota account, I currently am going through the process of getting the rights to access my 4Runner through the app. Had to talk to someone on the phone and then email a picture proving that I purchased it and I'm hoping everything will go smoothly and sometime next week I will be able to sign up for remote connect and have my remote start

What a pain. Didn't have to do that with the Tacoma but this was near the end of 2021.

Lucky. Us SR5 and Off-Road peasants don't get remote start.

I'm not counting my chickens before they hatch, I read online that the limited and the pro get the remote start but I'll believe it once I see it lol. Yeah I was pretty upset when I bought my 2020 Tacoma which was the TRD off-road with the technology package and I couldn't get remote start only the SOS

There was a time when GM claimed changing the oil filter every second change was adequate. Never got my head around that one.

I just don’t trust oil changes either over 5k. Was weird enough over 3k back in the day when that changed. Then all the government regulated oil. Feel like I’m also waiting on a product failure between oil and filter failure.
