I thought this thread was about getting unstuck, not changing flats ;)

I would be happy to help if I was there! Afterall, getting stuck is a thing of the past since the A-TRAC device was added to the Tacoma! :)D That's what you are expecting from me, right?)

My own answer to the OP is (if he has nothing else than what the truck comes with, stock):

Make a roadbed of plant material (branches, small logs, etc. and start by jacking up each tire and placing rocks or wood under the tires so the truck is at the same level as the terrain (not burried below it) and on top of solid matter... then as much new roadbed you can place in front of the tires to get your momentum up and out of the squishy stuff.

If needed (and specially if you can't obtain rocks or wood), deflate the tires to widen the foot print. Just start your drive out above the stuck by raising the tires and filling in the hole below them with anything, including mud, before lowering the jack.

I don't think the Tacoma could possibly carry enough beer for that long of a wait.

Wait for night. When it gets cold enough that the mud firms up, just drive out.

If you wheel hard enough to get a bunch of extraction gear you wheel hard enought to justify $250 worth of HREW sliders.

Fair enough. OP, throw a can of WD40 and a lighter in your bag of goodies too.

Agreed. First real investment I made in my truck was sliders. I have put enough scratches on them to justify the cost and as a lift point, it is much easier to dig under a slider to lift then it is to dig under the frame.

its happened to me when my GF and I went wheeling by ourselves. I got out, dug some shit from under all the tires, then got as many branches, twigs tree trunks and solid shit as possible and made a trail. Got in, hit the gas and got out. I have done this on many occasions since i have a bad habit of wheeling alone lol

    COME ON GUYS!

No recommendations to jam rocks and sticks in front of the rear tires (maybe the front too)? Then when the tires start slipping hopefully some tread will grab a rock or stick, pull it underneath, jam under the tire, and gradually lift you out. If your tires are mud packed, grab a stick and clean out the tread.

haha! I have used that method so many times it honestly makes me feel stupid but genius at the same time! i have gotten myself out of some serious sticky shit.

gotta love what being 125-100 miles from the nearest city and having zero phone reception AND your GF saying we're going to die does to your adrenaline and thinking haha

Several friends or associates say similar. Sadly, I haven't yet had a chance to really explore the area. Only moved to Alabama three months ago, so this state is still new to me. However, all that will change soon enough.
