    Cost isn't important

Usage: Mainly Roadtrips, Light Offroading to get to Trail Heads, Winter Roads.

It seems I'm reading more negatives than positives besides the Reliability of a Toyota.

Negatives seem to be: Transmission always hunting, No Sunroof, Road Noise, Drivers Seat height adjustment, lack of power, etc.

Which model makes sense and why? I'm 100% willing to aftermarket anything if I have the right model to work with.

    Wants:
    1. Sunroof (Guess the limited or Canadian version are the only options?)
    2. 4 x 4
    3. Locking Differential

I guess you can't have it all with the Taco

Locking diff limits you to trd pro or off road only. Sunroof knocks off the pro, therefore a trd off road with tech and premium packages will get you 4x4, sunroof and locking rear diff plus crawl control and mts

You are in the market for a Toyota and have a list of negatives that you have read about? Have you actually taken one out for a test drive?? Sure doesn't sound like it.
" I guess you can't have it all with the Taco" ?? No offense but you have only 2 post on this forum and this one sure seems like a troll post....just my opinion.

Sounds like it's the TRD Off-Road Double cab 4x4 with Premium package that you want.

Forget all of the negative bs, it's a great reliable truck. Slightly under powered in the lower rpms but midrange and top end it comes alive and will get up and go.

Not trolling at all, I finally have the means to buy a Tacoma and came here for help, Toyota doesn't make it easy to compare the models (have you tried building one on their site?)

Anyways, I'm looking to understand my best options to meet my needs.

Since a Sunroof is a must that has you picking from Sport, Off Road, and Limited. Locking Rear is Off Road and Pro but Pro has no Sunroof.
